I would absolutely not pay anything. Some people seem to think the company is waiting for enough people to pay in order to fund their order from the manufacturers.

Correct. I don't care either way if it's real or not. Just a bunch of words on the Internet for now.

Just got an email from Rtic and the coolers are now shipping. We shall see.

To Our Customers:

We have begun shipping our coolers! Please click here RTIC Coolers Begins Shipping for a video update.

The shipping delay was due to our decision to upgrade the resin and improve the freezer gasket to help ensure we were offering the best product on the market. The improvements were well worth the wait as the response from our initial coolers have been very positive.

We expect to have all the pre-orders shipped within 60-90 days from your pre-order date. We will be shipping the coolers in the order we received the reservations / pre-orders. All customers holding a pre-order will receive an email notification about a week before their order actually ships notifying them their coolers will be in stock and ready for shipping within the next 7 days. Upon shipment of the order, customers will receive a shipping confirmation which will include UPS tracking numbers.

Once all the pre-orders have shipped, we then expect to have enough coolers in stock to offer immediate shipment in December. The pricing will be the same and we will have free 2-day shipping at that time.

I'll order as soon as they'll ship in 5 days or so, not 2 months.

These seem to be identical to Yetis and even compare themselves to them, dont see them lasting long for some reason

Our Yeti rep came by today and said it's happening. According to him they may not even be able to sell them when all is said and done.

He has more faith in the patent office than I do

It cost a lot to ship something so heavy from China.

Then how is RTIC doing it and why are the cups/coozies so pricey?

They are probably made in the same factory. Yeti is probably not relying on the patent office but rather their agreement with the factory in China. Yeti is just probably making a substantial markup because they could and need to with the way there distribution network is set up. Rtic is online sale only from them to you so there overhead is not that much...they will ride the yeti advertising world at a fraction of the cost and make mad profits. Yetis cups and whatnot are so pricy because they work fricken good and don't have much competition....so they charge. Look for them to have price adjustments if Rtic sticks around. Probably some " New design" that they can magically make cheaper....and they will add a easy open handle.
