Stingaree Marina in Crystal Beach, TX. Not sure about being able to avoid drunk morons but the trout bite in East Bay is legit.

Sun buns bar and grill. It’s also on Lake Maurepas. Put in at the ramp under I55 @manchac and go left out of the boat launch like you going towards middendorfs and before you get out the canal, sun buns is on your right

Top Of The River is probably one of my favorites. Good dock to tie up your boat and excellent food in the restaurant. The pickled onions and cornbread they bring out before your meal is top notch. Probably the best turnip greens I have ever had.
The Bluegill Grill is also really good on Tim’s Ford lake.
If you are including saltwater then the list is endless and I won’t even go into it here.

If I'm not mistaken, Frenier's Landing in Ruddock is boat accessible

He said "with boat access". Trudy's doesn't have boat access. But there is a boat launch 300yds behind it.

Is that the rule at Chimes or just because it's hard to get to?

Don't think they can make a rule on public water. I would like to know of a boat ramp close by. I got a long tail that runs like a kayak.

Menetre park boat launch off of 4th ave in downtown Covington, its little over 2 miles from the launch to the chimes by boat or kayak. Wave at me when you come by and I'll throw you a beer, red and white bow rider on the lift right north of the launch.

No it’s just hard to get to. They have some kids that have catfish jug lines all around it and they use a flatboat with a small outboard, and they go north of chimes with it. I’m sure they’ve had to get out and drag it a few times. But like bluemoons said there are some spots that won’t allow anything over a small 14 foot flat boat by on a good day.

Old landing is probably the closest ramp.

What Mmack said. I always called this old landing ramp.

Man, I appreciate you catching that. I didn't even think about appeasing your opinion of what boat access means when I typed that. FWIW, it's about 100 yards.

Also Gros' Marina on Lake Verret serves good lunches on Saturdays with a decent dock set up.

But there's about a 50 foot walk from the dock to the bar. Not sure if that meets the criteria.

Lots of really good info here. I wasn't expecting so many leads. I'm going to go check out a few of these and report back.
