The Tundra checks both those boxes. Poor mileage and reliable

If you're worried about reliability so much just get a low deductible monthly car warranty from someone like car shield or something. With low mile vehicles you can get the plan that covers everything except oil changes and filters and only be paying like $100-150 per month extra for as long as you decide to pay for it.

I was planning on a tundra until they switched motors, turboed V6 is not something I want.

I forget what year I had, maybe a 2011. Man that thing would scream but my god that was the worst gas mileage of all time.
The new ones look good imo but they are just so far behind on the luxury/interior/technology I couldn't buy one. For some reason they decided to just stay basic on the interior and you can't keep up doing stuff like that. Also, the whole discontinuing the truck thing would keep me from buying one as well.

See, I dont mind that. If I want luxury, Ill buy a car or suv. For me, I want a truck. Bluetooth and maybe a heated seat is about all the luxury I need. I also, dont really even want carpet. Just the vinyl floor.

You took the words right out of my mouth, ai want a basic truck, hell I tried to buy a work base truck last go around but the fricking dealers were too stupid to work with.

I have a 2018 SV Crew 4x4 with 60k miles. I love it. It's not fancy or super pretty but that's what I like. Drove F150s before that and glad I made the switch to the Titan!

I don't think a Ram is what you want. They're the nicest trucks on the road and ride better than the others, even at the lower trim levels.
That does hurt them a bit when towing or hauling anything heavy.
My 1500 Limited was the nicest truck available, but we moved up to a 3500 Limited to tow. Not as nice as the 1500, but obviously tows much better.

Exactly the same. Got the 18sv 4x4 for $28k with 10k miles.

My wife has an Armada (same thing with more cabin and no bed) and it's a great vehicle. Has been super reliable and I've heard nothing but good things about the trucks.

You can get both for pretty much the same price with every other truck though. You are paying for Nissans top of the line that is comparable to every one elses lower trim. I say in a 2022 Titan and it looked like the inside of my 2011. I felt like it was missing a CD player or something. I want a truck too, but if I'm paying the some price, I'm going to take the one with more options, better towing and gas mileage and better resale. Pretty much every truck on the market is better at all of those than the Titan. And this is coming from someone who likes Titans much more than the average person.

You would think if you are going to make "HD" truck that it would have class leading towing, hell they even come with a gooseneck hookup and still is only 3rd in towing.

Yeah I bought mine for 32k with 6k miles on it.
My wife drives a 2015 Armada and besides a few minor electrical issues it's been great. 130k miles

We have 7-8 4WD Titan XD work trucks here at our office. As long as Nissan keeps making them we'll be buying them.
They never seem to go into the shop for repairs (unlike the Chevy 1500 Series 1/2 ton work trucks we used to buy).
Gas mileage for the Titan XD isn't the best, but we place a lot more emphasis on reliability than on fuel economy.
FWIW I drive a 4WD Nissan Armada (my 4th one) and my wife drives a Nissan Murano. Both are Platinum Edition models with lots of bells & whistles. None of my Armadas has ever been in the shop (not even for those bells & whistles). Wife's Murano just went in for the first time - a recall under warranty (some minor component).
TL;DR -- Titan XD is super reliable, but not great on fuel economy. I've been driving Armadas for 16 years and am sold on Nissans.

I have a 2018 Pro4X and I agree with all of this. Great truck but sucks to turn. Managable though

Nissan has never quite figured out the full-size truck segment. The first-gen Titans were trucks with great motors, sub-par transmissions, and rear axles that would fail if you said a mean word around them. The XD trucks fixed some of those issues but the 5.0 Cummins was a flop and not enough trim options to really establish itself.

I have the v6 hybrid twin turbo. Cannot speak to the reliability of it because I've only had it two weeks but it will scream, I know that. It would dust the Ford 5.0 and ecoboosts I've had. Fastest stock truck I've ever owned and I was getting 24mpg on cruise at 65mph for about an hour drive earlier this week. Not sure yet bc I havent gone a long time without getting on the highway but city mpg seems to be at the 19-20 mark, in standard mode, not eco.

Nissan Diesel was not the best Diesel engine out there.
I owed one and work on Cummins engines.
That model engine had issues.
Sold it and bought a gas Nissan Titan and it was a gas burner.
The Diesel had engine issues which was more on Cummins.
The gas truck had alot of electrical quirks which was on Nissan.
I drive a Pro X 4x4 in the Frontier.
Been pretty reliable.
They ride rougher than an Ford Ranger or GM chevy/ GMC midsize.
Gas mileage is not the best.
Hey it cranks and goes.
