Duck hunting has had it's oddly crazy/potentially violent side for a lot longer than they have been famous.

I appreciate your 30 year claim, but Most public blind squatters like to use the “my grand daddy hunted here since 1930” excuse.

It's a damn public lake. You cannot own a blind. If you don't like how the public behaves on public lakes, go get a damn private place like the rest of us. Don't be a POS and confront and kill some kids. SMH. Hope he burns

EDIT, so maybe private blinds are legal through a lottery on this lake? Still you dont go and kill some kids. Let them be and call the law if necessary.

Word I heard was this isn’t the first time these boys and the shooter had a run in. Not the first time these
boys have been in a blind that they had no right to be in (for years) and the boys drew down on the shooter. Shooter shot in (apparent self defense).

This is just me speculating so take it as that.

If the 70yr old killed 2 kids and shot a 3rd in "self defense", why has he not been found? He obviously ran.

I would think that a 70yr old would know enough to not run if he just shot someone in self defense.

As to the lake.

I've been there but never hunted the lake itself but from reading, TWRA has a drawing every August for the public blinds on the lake. If you win a blind, it's yours for the season.

I dont know any specifics, but whoever picked up a gun and shot at someone first is in the wrong and deserves to be held accountable. At no point can you get that worked up, even if you have every reason to be mad....you dont shoot at anyone.

They were hunting a public draw blind. The shooter left his blind and entered their blind. It is rumored they have had tension this season about shooting swings and things of that

supposed the specifics were that the shooter did not brandish weapon first?

These "boys" aren't "kids". A 25 and a 26 year old are not considered boys, correct? It's not like they were 12 years old.

Of course they should not have been shot. What senseless b.s. is that? That's just backwoods hillbilly stuff. Geez.

how can you say that without knowing specifics? What if the first person to shoot wasn't the first person to pick up a gun? I can "what if" dozens of scenarios where the first person to pick up a gun and shoot would be perfectly justified. That's why specifics matter

Just do what the columbian drug lords do and put a hippo in there. That would solve the problem.

Can someone please explain just WTF “shooting swings” means? Are these low flying birds between two blinds causing one group to get peppered? Birds that are working two different blinds and haven’t committed to a blind yet?

From the board linked earlier:

quote:

When a blind is working birds and they make circles around the hole sometimes they will fly over other blinds If you shoot at them that is swing shooting Not a cool practice in the duck hunting world

Any money change hands on this draw?
Imagine there's a ton of asshattery with blinds and next year there will be much change.
Same used to happen in Ar before the state eliminated guides from the state management areas. Reelfoot shouldn't allow guides either.
