Recommend Bamarep a gas BBQ grill

I love my big ole Char Grill 6 burner with the sear burner as well but piss on having to drop $150 to "rebuild" the dang thing every two or three years.
I have a separate gas smoker so that part isn't a consideration. We use our grill at least two or three times a week, even in the winter.
Thanks for the recs.

How many people are you cooking for on average?

On "average" just three but we entertain by the pool a pretty good bit so I need the extra capacity from time to time. Hence, the 6 burner. Plus, the older kids come stay from time to time as well. I don't guess they got the hint when I gave them luggage for their 18th b'day.

Holy shite!
I'll go back to a charcoal tailgater before I buy that thing.
Bamarep is NOT an OT baller.

I had a Weber Genesis for several years. It performed extremely well until the metal degraded so much that the bottom inside pan dropped out. That took about ten years. Solid grill for a medium price.

Weber Genesis is the official OB gas grill.
There are 3 models: basic, special edition and stainless. The special edition upgrades to stainless grate and flame up bars. Special edition is available at specialty hardware stores and Ace. The stainless version gets stainless grate, flame up bars and exterior stainless parts.
Im on year 4 of my special edition. I only deep clean once annually and there are no signs of having to replace it. It does have slight rust showing on some of the stainless that I can remove during deep cleaning but I am too lazy to detail my grill.
Pros: Great value especially with stainless grate and bars. High temps. Is actually a great smoker putting a smoke box directly on the flame up bars. I think its best bang for buck grill out there.
Cons: Wheels are terrible for rough surfaces and concrete. I plan on building a dolly for an all terrain setup. Igniting system gums up once a year. Ive replaced it once at $50. Has developed hot spots over the years but nothing i cant work around.

I've been looking at the Spirit II 3-burner grill, I'll only get one when the are discounted in the late Fall and can take another 10% off with mil discount from Lowes. Weber has gone way down hill in terms of build-quality in the last 20 years. I have an old Genesis and the cast aluminum "tub" is over double the thickness of any newer Weber no matter the class. Really disappointing which is why, unless you are looking to spend $500 and less, go shopping for another brand or save money for something truly worth the price tag.

I bought a Spirit 2 burner recently for $349. I am generally just cooking for 2, and it gets the job done. I have been pretty impressed with it so far. It gets to almost 550 degrees, which is plenty hot enough for me. Everything I’ve cooked on it has tasted great. No hot spots as of yet, although reviews have stated they tend to have them. I use it a minimum of 2 times a week, and so far it has worked flawlessly.
I read some reviews that put the Spirit 3 burner as the best overall value for a quality BBQ pit. You can get older models for $450 still online.

Big plus with the Spirit 2 burner is the low propane consumption. I have one and I grill on it 3+ times a week. One propane tank lasts a long time

I’ve been having a Wilmington for almost 20yrs and the only thing I’ve had to replace was the drip pan. I like it so much I will be putting a 36” natural gas model in my outdoor kitchen at my new house.

Check out the Holland Grills. I’m on my 2nd. First one lasted 15 years with no repairs.

Worth every penny. I've had mine over 10 years and only had to change the 'flavorizer bars' once. They're easy to find at any big box store or you can use angle iron cut to size. You won't be sorry if you purchase it.

This might be a dumb question but how hard is it to build a brick encasement around a gas grill, or are there specific kits for this to put on the back porch?

Weber...whatever you can afford

I have a weber genesis 330. I would look for a used one. These are now a couple of years old and there are deals to be had on them. Swap out the grates and flavorizer bars and you should be able to grill on it for the next 15-20 years.
