For my dad's birthday, my 4 brothers and I took my dad on a pheasant hunting trip to SD. Was a helluva a good time and, most importantly, my dad had an absolute blast. We traveled on Friday and hunted the pheasant opening weekend through Monday.

Here are some pics of out hunt. Hope you enjoy:

Group shot with my brothers and our dad:

My dad with a pheasant he made an incredible shot on. 73 years old and he can still pluck them outta the sky:

We also figured out that the ponds nearby were loaded with fish. Caught 285 bass in a couple afternoons. Mostly small, but my brother did catch one about 4.5lb:

Looks like a good trip, we decided to change from SD to Kansas this year due to the drought conditions in the area that we normally hunt. Looks like yall were hunting some well-managed property.

Nice trip. What part of SD? I'll be headed to Kimball in 2 weeks for our annual trip, which is about 100 miles due west of Sioux Falls.

The closest town was Gregory. About two and a half hours Southwest from Sioux Falls.

That looks like a blast, and those photos are pro-quality, they look like they should be in a sporting magazine...good work.

not too bad. We pushed 3 or 4 strips each day and the strip were maybe 1/4 mile long each. And half the time you're a blocker so you aren't walking anyway. My dad is 73 and didn't have any issues with it.

Was going to ask if the corn was down... I hate walking those corn strips. Later in the year the better for walking sloughs and working dogs.

They said they were late cutting corn this year. Still had about 50% left to cut.

Most of what we hunted was milo or just natural brush. Still plenty of standing corn remaining

That is a gaggle of Coco's and dogs.

Looks like I see 6-7 dogs in one of those pics?

Regardless, looks like an amazing time.

And those that are wanting to make a trip like this, please hurry up and do it. I lost my dad a few years ago and absolutely terrified that I'm about to lose my brother as well.
