Looks like Dads shooting an old A5, smart man. Great pics, thanks. I changed my plans from going to SD next weekend to Oklahoma in 4 weeks and Kansa in 6. Glad you found birds.

Hah yeah we've got a big family.

Looks like I see 6-7 dogs in one of those pics?

And at one point I think they were working 10 dogs. We had a very large group hunting a couple of the fields and they were using a lot of dogs.

And those that are wanting to make a trip like this, please hurry up and do it. I lost my dad a few years ago and absolutely terrified that I'm about to lose my brother as well.

No doubt. We originally talked about it as a 75th bday present but decided it was stupid to wait. Never know what can happen. Might as well do it now while we can.

Headed to the Brookings area to walleye fish for a few days this morning.

SD has a ton fornthe outdoorsman and they manage things well. My son is duck hunting with his buddies this morning in the same area just by chance.

Indeed. He got that when he finished his dissertation back in 1972 I believe. It's the only shotgun I've ever seen him use and it's still in great shape.

Wishing I would've. I had never hunted pheasant before and never hunted with this guide either. Didn't want to show up with dogs in tow on the first go and put people off. Knowing what I know now, they'd absolutely have been in the truck for the trip.

Looks like a good trip, we decided to change from SD to Kansas this year due to the drought conditions in the area that we normally hunt. Looks like yall were hunting some well-managed property.
Hope KS treats you well. I imagine you are heading to the Western portion of the state for pheasants?

My breeder organizes a big trip every year with his clients. 1/2 dozen Boykin's working a field at once in Kansas for Pheasant. Sounds fun but I prefer ducks. Wouldn't want to give up 3-4 days in November to miss ducks.
