Radical Firearms AR?

What's the board think of Radical Firearms?
I find myself currently without an AR 15 in 223/556, after having traded an M&P Sport to my brother and never replacing it. Now, with the climate becoming the way it is, I'm thinking 2 things:
1) Now's not the best time to be looking for another,
and
2) things might get worse before they get better.
I do have other, reliable firearms, both long and short. I don't want a super-expensive gun, but just something reasonably reliable, and reasonably inexpensive, just to have.
So in looking around, I came across this:
Radical Firearms AR-15 FCR 5.56 NATO 16" M4 Stock
It's a complete rifle with 16" barrel.
I found a reputable site with it listed in stock, $475, $25 to ship. $20 for my FFL to do the transfer.
I went ahead and ordered it, since I haven't built one myself, and even finding kits at that range is pretty tough. Buddy of mine has an extra set of flip-up sights he's gonna donate.
I checked, and a few months ago this wouldn't have been a hot deal... but right now it's tough to find anything at all below the $800 point.
So: was this a decent buy, as I think? Or could I have done better for the price right now?

I have one of their 8.5” barrels on my SBR. No issues with it.

I wouldn’t buy it but I have 6 AR’s. If I didn’t have one in this climate and couldn’t find anything else I probably would.

For a general use AR that will do just fine.
I’m actually surprised you managed to find one at that price point like others here. I just built one and it’s obviously not hard to source parts but a complete rifle at that price is a rarity. Good find.

Junk parts, junk build quality, junk rifle.

Had good luck with Bear Creek Arsenal. But haven’t heard any negative on Radical.

Got the shipping notice today, should get it Thursday

Junk parts, junk build quality, junk rifle.
I've seen a few online reviews, and people seem pleasantly surprised about it.

Sounds like you already "pulled the trigger" but if anyone else is looking around Lafayette, Uncle B's Gunsmithing always has a few for sale in his shop. They range in price from $550-$1100
Tell him tiddlesmcdiddles sent you, Great Guy.

My guess is none. He is just trying to justify the $1800 he spent on his Daniel defense.
For the record, I have a Daniel defense, noveske and a custom build with a radical barrel. Can’t tell a single difference between the 3. Some people just get suckered in for the brand name

So because I like nicer guns I’m a sucker? I have a few PSA ARs and a Kel-Tec and they are fine guns. But to say they are as good as My DD, Spikes or BCM is just not true.

My OP is regarding a budget AR. I'm completely convinced there are "nicer" ones that cost more.
Think of it like a 1911; it's an iconic gun and everyone should have one. Dan Wessons and Wilson Combats are great, and nobody is denying that. That doesn't mean that an Armscor RIA or a Tisas is "junk", it means they are cheaper, less expensive options that fit the bill.
Same applies to my FEG HiPower, it ain't an FN, but I have my HP platform now. I paid a little over 200 for that, the FEGs are now jumping in price because you just don't have options like you used to.
I wanted another AR because I didn't currently have one, basically just to have one. I wanted it in 223/556 because that's THE AR rd. The overall buying climate is barren, and the political climate is hostile towards this and going south daily. I chose not to wait and hope things get better, because they might get worse. Easily.
I found one, at a price that doesn't break the bank. I now will have one, which is better than not having one.
My ammo came in today

Didn’t say that. I was responding to his “ Junk parts, junk build quality, junk rifle“ statement
They function just fine.

My radical 10.5 works like it should

Hopefully none of us are going to have to use one in defense for a long period of time. Sounds like a deal to me.

they had a myriad of assembly issues and parts failures a few years ago and got a bad rep on a few forums. haven't seen much about them lately, maybe theyve gotten their shite together
for that cheap, who gives a shite
