Which one have yall used and had good luck with? Rinella is always pimping the Thermapen but that thing is $100, a little steep for stocking stuffer.

What are some other good gifts for outdoorsman?

TIA

Spend the money on a Thermapen MK4. Can’t beat it. There’s a lot of sales going on through their website. Don’t buy it off of Amazon.

Edit: you’re right-there are probably lower priced options if this is for stocking stuffers.

I have 2 of the MEATER thermometers. They work pretty good. They measure ambient temp along with that of your meat. They were on sale last week at 20% off

I have a Thermapen, all I'll use now. They have smaller models in the $30 range and lower, still fast reading without some of the features of the Classic and Mk4 units.

Thermapro for $20. Read out is just as fast and accurate as the thermapen.

For an instant read go with Thermopro TP03 instant read on Amazon for $14. Works great.
I’ve given out quite a few of these as gifts and everybody loves them.

I bought the ThermoPro TP25 500ft Wireless Bluetooth Meat Thermometer with 4 Temperature Probes Smart Digital Cooking BBQ Thermometer for Grilling Oven Food Smoker off Amazon for around $40....used it on thanksgiving to smoke a turkey and brisket...first time i've had an extra probe to be able to use one for the internal temp vs using the dial on outside of smoker....it worked great

I have this one and it's been nice. I've tested it in boiling water and it's accurate. $18

I’ve had a Thermapen for 10 years. Will buy another if it ever breaks.

I have one for the house and one for the camp, the single best cooking tool I have, has made such a difference in my cooking, could not Imagine cooking without one

My sentiments exactly. I bought a couple other cheap thermometers from Amazon and they worked OK but were cheaply made compared to the Thermapen.

You have to hold one and use it to realize how well built it is compared to the chyna asshoe knockoffs.

For stocking stuffers it depends on who it is I guess and how much you want to spend. I'm cheap and had a hard time initially buying the Thermapen for myself. So unless they are really special, I'd go chyna asshoe.

I have both a thermapen and a lavatools javelin. Have used both extensively over the last several years. If there is a difference in performance between the two, I can’t tell. Get the lavatools. It does the same thing for 20% of the cost.

I'm a Thermapen fan as well. Had one for 7-8 years and cannot imagine cooking without it now. I'm probably responsible for selling 25 of those thing between gifts, friends and family. We use it nearly daily.

If you like the idea of a Thermapen but are looking for something a little more reasonable for a stocking stuffer the ThermoPop from ThermoWorks is the way to go for sure. They typically run some great specials for the holidays as well.

I use the ThermoPop for instant read and the Signals with their Billows Fan for leave in probes and temperature control. I recently had an issue with my Signals connecting to Wi-Fi and they replaced the entire unit including the probes with no issue. They definitely stand behind their products.
