Nothing. I kept waiting on something bigger, and he never came. By the time i realized he wasnt coming, nothing else came out either.

I shot the one and only deer I saw this year, an 8pt on opening morning.

An observation from this thread...it seems like the you need a 270 to kill a deer this year. All others are bad luck.

7 point in Arkansas
doe in Arkansas
11 point in Texas
all with 30-06. Never had a good shot opportunity with my bow this year.... first time in 4 years I didn't get a bowkill..... yet.... but I doubt I get a chance to hunt much more this season.

On the plus side, a big young 2 year old buck I was trying to get through the season alive showed up in my back yard last night almost like he was saying "thanks man I made it through". Was glad to see him still alive, he has tons of potential. He was only a six point this year but he is wide and tall.

Made approximately 12 hunts. Only saw deer on the very last hunt.

Took a 200 yard shot on a doe and missed. First miss with a rifle.

Mad.

Two does within 10 mins of each other in Arkansas with rifle and havent been in the woods for deer again since that weekend (waterfowl). Bow hunting hard starting this weekend until season ends.

I know how you feel. I have a game cam pic from last week with three decent bucks together. One is young but the other 2 I would have shot and had pics of them all year. It was confirmation that it looks like they survived the season and will be around next year. Has me excited for the future.

How many visits from Ol' Green Jeans did you have this year? Or did y'all high tail it from that area after everything went down knowing they wanted to hammer y'alls arse if they could?

How many pics do you take of each deer? You are a posing mudder trucker.

Doe with a bow. Saw some good animals early just no good shot with a bow then had a pretty uneventful rifle season. Hoping that changes this weekend for the final weekend of rifle.
