Will my Springfield mil spec take other mags? Dumb question, but I really don't know. My Llama will only take a Llama mag.

1911 magazines are supposed to be universal unless you have a different caliber.
I have 3 and all the magazines are interchangeable
The .45s even work in the 10mm and vice versa.
ETA: there are also a few double stacks.

Yes, got a few Wilson Combat mags for mine. Be glad your Llama only takes its own mags. If you put WC mags in it....

nice Yeah I'm not proud of the Llama. I was 21 and it was the pistol I'd ever bought. You live and you learn. I went on to make a couple more poor pistol purchases along the way. A black powder revolver and a Smith and Wesson Sigma. I don't really hate the Sigma but don't love it either.

Picked up my new Colt today. It's the Two Tone Combat Elite Government size. I'm very impressed with the slide fit to frame. No traditional "Colt rattle." Going to the range to shoot on Tuesday. Will send pictures then.

There is one thing I like about the Llama, it came with an extended slide release. I can't really release the slide on my Springfield one handed.

Nice looking weapon. I have three 1911's (maybe four - have think about it). But I don't claim to have any expertise whatsoever with them.
