Now Hammer, if you were, and know trial folks you know its ALL about having the best (for that day anyway). Its what lures them back weekend after weekend. The slim chance that their dog may "have its day". Beagle, and Upland trialers are no different, 100's of dogs, one blue ribbon. Whats the saying;"When the tailgate drops, the bullshite stops."

I have a lab mix named Millie. She doesnt listen to anyone unless they have food, she refuses to jump out the bed yet has no issue leaping on and off the sofa which is higher off the ground. She can sleep in any position and eats like none other. However, she is in fantastic shape and is actually quite smart. Shes caught a squirrel in our backyard, but no way Id take her hunting, she has no discipline for that. Shes also my favortie dog we've owned for some reason

Man you've seen the kind of boars I've got on there still. That's what he's going off on. He ties into a 300 lb boar as his first hog and he's fricked. And my fat arse ain't gonna get there fast enough to save him. I'm taking him up there for deer season and I'll probably let him blood trail. Hell, I'll take him up there for squirrels too just to see if he wants to play with the tree rats. But in deer season he's going on a chain at the camp while I'm on the stand. Otherwise he's chase me to the stand and scare everything off.
He's gonna be pissed about that.

KJS, I disagree, I am just not into the my dog is better than yours. My ultimate end game is still to have a good duck dog. I want a dog that will handle and do 3-400 yard water blinds in Venice, pick up ducks, and not have to ruin the hunt by yelling at it the entire time.
I am much more comfortable running against a "standard" than running for first place. I realize for those that run field trials that's a big thing. It's not my thing, nothing against it. I have run field trials and also sometimes train with field trialers, but competing with them isn't my cup of tea.

If you are in South Louisiana, the dogs are fairly rare. My shorthairs get confused with dalmatians more times than not. Are you looking for a hunting dog, and if so, what are you looking to hunt? A few litters are advertised on louisianasportsman.com. If you catch choupiquesushi on the board, raise the question to him, he knows a few guys that have litters from time to time...
My original male came from Texas (Wildrose Kennels), my female from louisianasportsman, and my puppy from my breading. I sold all my pups on louisianasportsman before 6 weeks of age and had a waiting list a couple of times...

Mine stalked a rabbit in the yard for 10 minutes this morning before my wife told him to get it and the rabbit out ran him.

Well I can't compete with you guys for retrieving or blood tracking, but I think this is the best rabbit dog in this thread. So far anyway. LOL

I own a FC AFC. Been to the Nationals with him. Real nice dog. Ran a lot of hunt test with my old dog, MH HRCH. He was also QAA. I have a young one now that has done "REAL" well in the minor stakes.
