Maintained those ponds many moons ago. Some were very caustic. Some were neutral and ducks would land in them. The old white plant truck we used was red from all the dust, and extremely rusty from the caustic mud. Catching samples up there I could see houses and subdivisions being built and I just shook my head.

That’s clean work under there Captain! Couple questions, did you put a Voltage sensing relay between your house and cranking and or two trolling batteries or are they rigged straight parallel and what does that power pole charger do that your alternator can’t? Guessing it passes on charging current to trolling batts also?

Had 5 mostly TJs. Highly recommend getting a standard with the strait 6. Be ready to work on AC, all front end components, ecm’s , leaky head cover gaskets, drum brakes, and catalytic converter and or O2 sensors. All easy stuff if you can pull a wrench. If you can’t get a Honda. Bring a code reader when you go test drive one for sure.
Just purchased the B-14 wild ridge in 7mm rem mag w Leupold Vx-3 glass, for my boy. Love the gun. Barrel is not broken in yet and all ready shooting sub MOA. The muzzle brake and soft recoil pad make it a smoothe shooter as well. Not much recoil at all.

Have one on an 18x48. It's quick. Pulls good in mud also. It's a galvanized steel frame instead of aluminum like GT, PD or MB so it's heavier. I've had them all. I went with the FNR because I'm close to the shop. So I don't have to drive to Loreauville if I have an issue. I prefer the driving style of the PD though. It handles more like an outboard.

Bawpaw we’re talking about sea charging, not land. I have two multi bank charging units while docked. The 3.3 yam alternator puts out about 46 amps. Roughly 10 amps is consumed by the motor and the rest charges your battery while underway depending on the rpm’s your running. Shrimp, radio, nav, power pole and everything else must pull from the starting battery; unless you run a separate “house” battery. To get charging amps to the “ house” battery a voltage sensing relay can be used that isolates while discharging, and combines while charging under way.

Thinking of wiring in a charging relay and getting the “add-a-battery kit” from Blue Sea Systems. Currently my cranking battery operates the motor, and all other accessories and my trolling batteries are separate. The ACR allows for dual charging of a cranking and a house or accessory battery from the alternator. Anyone running a set up like this? I was also thinking of just paralleling a house battery. Wouldn’t that give me alternator charging as well?

That “dust” is some high PH stuff, as well are those ponds. Worked there as well and couldn’t believe my eyes when pelican point and crossing were being developed. The developer, city parish, and real estate companies really took advantage of some unknowing home buyers. You can spray it all you want but in a 30+ mph wind , some is leaving.

Yes. Had both ears done on our Boykin ($1500 each) . Wish I had just done his worst ear because he is deaf now (unless you yell). It finished his duck hunting career. I taught him to handle with hand signals so I may attempt to use a vibration collar in lieu of a "sit whistle". He loves to hunt much more than our lab and is a much better "boat dog" than she is. It did stop the ear infections though. The vet told me the spaniel breed in general has ear canals not designed to drain and their hair doesn't shed water like the labs so the ear becomes a factory for ear "bugs".

Speed is the difference and reason why you took an outboard. Surface drives can run speeds in the 30’s but drop off when you load the boat down with men and gear. Just you and a buddy on a marsh trip, surface drives are fine.
Both the go-devil and gator tail are good machines. I have a go devil FNR because I live 3 doors down from the go devil shop and if I need service, down time is real low. I’ve had mudbuddy, prodrive, and godevil and all were good machines. A buddy has a gator tail and it serves him well.

I hunt Raccourci island in area 6 and I saw spotted fawns a couple weeks ago. Got some real small ones on camera as well.

Could be several issues. What’s your “cut-on/off “ pressures look like on your holding tank? You could be water logged, bad pressure switch, a leak, etc. That gauge reading says a lot. Got a wet spot some where? Watch your holding tank gauge for a while without running water anywhere, then run some water and watch it.
Pressure switches are rated at 30/50 (on/off) or 40/60 normally. So your pump should be cutting on and off at those pressures. And once it cuts off it should hold that pressure unless you have a leak, or someone is pulling water.

You can lease a horse if you look around. I’d do everything I could to not buy one. Some barns look for people to ride them. My daughter rode barrels and jumped from 6-16 years old. She’s graduated college now and I’ve still got two expensive goats basically. Thousands of dollars in saddles, $3000 for surgery for one horse that still died, an arena, feed, hay, horse trailer, farrier… I can keep going. Can’t leave home without finding someone to feed them twice a day. Take it from a horse owner of 20 years, explore any and all possibilities before you buy one.

Yep. Had a 40 Yam 2-Stroke on a PD 17 footer and did just fine. Like dude above said just don't take a sharp turn WAO.
If it’s like Doge and some others there is an anti-siphon mechanism right before the tank that’s spring loaded and will act like a check valve not allowing gas to flow if it fails. Try pouring some Marvel Mystery Oil to lube it up (won’t affect tank) and take a fish tape and try depressing the spring to loosen. The only way to replace in most cases is dropping the tank unfortunately but sometimes the Mystery Oil and fishtape trick will loosen the valve and get it working properly again.

I Like my 24 pathfinder. Whatever hulls are considered, make sure access to maintenance items are easy. Also look at fit and finish of the wiring. Some manufacturers use marine heat shrink terminals and splices and some don’t. Some make it easy to pull new wire or add an accessory and some do not. They’re all great when new. It’s when you have to start fiddling with stuff you’ll learn real quick the manufacturers who put more thought into their design process. Unless your slinging lithiums you’ll either love or hate the boat builder when it’s time to change out or fool with the batteries.
I have a Kohler 20/18 air cooled. So far so good. I don’t like the auto switch. Needs control boards on both the gen and the ats to talk to each other. Bugs, lizards and spiders can easily cause a short and burn them up so it’s super important to keep the housings clean. If I was to do it again I’d go with a manual ng generator and xfer switch. The more automated the system the more possibilities for a problem. I might also look into a liquid cooled option. Of course the liquid cooled Cummins across the street has had nothing but issues.

I hate my bubba blade electric. Recip speed is slow, and blades are dull compared to others I’ve used. This is the cordless model. I liked my rapala better but the battery didn’t last long. If bubba came out with an upgraded version that was wise. I’ve tried to give mine away. Maybe I’ll try it with the mister twister blades.
