While this thread intrigued me, your post was well below expectations. Not only did you not post a fricking picture(s), you didn't even state what your favorite boat was.
YOU SUCK AT THE INTERWEBZ.

The two that stood out for me were the Pathfinder 2600 and the Contender 25 Bay. Both seemed to be great boats - slightly different strengths and weaknesses, but I would have to say the fit/finish on the Pathfinder was VERY nice! They're expensive, though...

Just go buy a used (low hours) Pathfinder in Florida. That's how we got ours and it's been a great boat at an even better price!

Not Houma but I went to the Mobile boat show this weekend and was fapping pretty hard to the Albury Brothers 23 they had there.

What I've found is that a good indication of quality of a new boat is to look at the electrical wiring. Check out Pathfinder, Contender or American Aluminum and they are all top-notch!

That's about middle of the road pricing for poling skiffs.

yeah, that's insane, You can buy a rigged out bay boat with 3 or 4 times the power and size for that.

Apples and oranges. You can't really compare the two.

What's the word on Ankona boats? I want a newish skiff with something like a 60HP on it, but I can't afford a brand new or even used 35K boat.

eta: For the sake of the question, let's just act like I have money, because I cant afford a kayak much less a boat with a motor.

Ankona isn't my favorite but they make an ok boat. When you get up around 60Hp the prices jump up to close to $30k with the sky being the limit.

It all depends on what you are trying to do. Figure that out first before you decide how much horsepower you think you will need.

28-30mph is just too slow for me. I just want something I can cruise around in and take some light chop in some bigger bays if I need to.
