And it's always someone trying to decide between a Tundra or f150

And your point is? So what if there is what do you care?

2016 Tundra owner and very happy. I have owned Ford and Chevy and I ain't going back. The Tundra isn't the fanciest but when you turn the key it goes.

stay happy with your ancient-arse engine.

I bet I can get 250K out of this ancient arse engine and I bet the rest of the truck will still function too.

Don't underestimate this...Go slam the door on a 10 year old Tundra/Tacoma/F150/whatever else and tell me which one closes solid, and which ones rattle.

I guess i've been lucky, but i've put 160k over 8 years on a F150 and a silverado, and pretty much never had any issues. If i did, it was a very very minor issue.

250k+ on my 99 f250 no problems. Was a personal truck, then on the farm, then my truck for like 7 years, now back on the farm.

Who buys a truck for fuel economy. If you wanted fuel economy, buy a fricking Prius

If you're an old guy like me, you want a comfortable, quieter ride. That moves the F150 ahead of the Toyotas unless the Toyotas have drastically changed in the last few years.

I've owned F150's since 2003 with no major and few minor mechanical issues.

I just got rid of my '16 Tacoma. WAY too small with kids. The 3 boys a blind bag and a couple of bb guns and the cab was packed. I had 13k miles and the cab had rattles all over the interior.
The 3.4 isn't horrible, but the 6 speed tranny is. It over shifted and shifted constantly. There are 2 recalls out and a list of TSBs as long as my arm.
I got a '16 4x4 4Runner and love it. It is ten times the vehicle the Tacoma was, in my opinion.

I've gone from a Z71 to a F150 to a Tundra.

Tundra wins hands down IMO.

What's up Ms? Long time since we last talked. Hope everything has been well.

I've been looking at a 13 to 15 taco. I saw the same tranny problems with the 16s. I am kinda confused though, I was under the impression that the cab size and drivetrain were the same for 4runners and Tacoma's? Maybe the dealer told me wrong. I went to wolfchase Toyota.

They haven't drastically done anything in the last few decades.

What's a key? I walk up to my pre-started truck, grab the door handle, hop on in and push the button and it starts every time...

The Tacoma has the same 4 cylinder it did 20 years ago

Not saying it's not a good engine though.

I have a 3 year old that likes to push buttons and switches. This and the push button start on the Taco is one of the reasons I went with the Tundra.

You can't really go wrong with any of the three, but the 2.7L isn't winning any burnout competitions.

The 2.7s are actually pretty quick off the line. Don't own one fwiw.

Toyota engines have never been the issue for me, it was always the ride and the cabin noise.
