If you wear a loose button up, shoulder is the way to go.
If you wear a polo and khakis, then iwb worked for me.
HOWEVER, Ive turned into a sissy and just pocket an LCP now.
I do feel way undergunned but bettern' nothing.
In the winter i go back to 9mm iwb.

I would seek out additional training. If you're in the Baton Rouge area, FRC Range has excellent training and facilities. No, I don't work there but have taken several of their classes.

I mean it’s your right to do so but from a tactical advantage it’s dumb.

Also are there any holsters that will work inside and outside the belt?
Blackpoint leather wing will if you change the belt attachment

Maybe look at an Aliengear shapeshift. It's modular and can go OWB (belt and paddle), IWB, appendix, and belly. I think there are a couple more options that they've added since I got one. It pulls this off by having an outer half shell that protects the outside of the trigger and provides retention and an inner half that protects the other side of the trigger and provides for the mounting method. At the very least, it can let you try all the positions without buying four holsters. I actually liked it enough for it to be my carry holster for my Beretta. The backing on the IWB configuration is fan freaking tastic.

carry a spare loaded magazine inside a magazine holder inside my left front pocket.
Curious. Why a mag holster if you’re putting it in your pocket? Why not just put the mag in your pocket?

I havent figured out a good way to carry a spare mag yet. I have too much shite in my pockets already.

Some people like the protection from lint and pocket debris getting into the mag. Personally, I just chuck them naked into my pocket because I take down my mags and run an oily rag through the tube when I clean my gun. Lint buildup isn't so much of a problem for me.
Still, if someone made a decent IWB weak side double mag pouch, I'd be all over that because I would prefer to have my mags in a known location and orientation so I've practiced with it when I need muscle memory to take over. It would be nice to position them so when I grab them, they're facing the right direction to go straight into the magwell without having to orient them because I just grabbed out of my pocket.

I use the mag holder to minimize the risk of lint in the magazine and to help keep the mag oriented correctly in the pocket.

Tiger,
Looking at the second pic in my original post is an IWB mag holder made by Ronin Leather. He makes a second style single mag holster w/ loops, but none that are double mag holders.

I like that - thanks.

I can’t stand heavy things in my pockets or on my belt...it drives me crazy. A belly band is a good compromise, keeps the gun off of my hip and is so much more comfortable
downside is you’ll probably want a t-shirt under it

A few different people make convertible holsters that will do both. If you mainly wear shorts and t-shirts I would just plan on OWB. It's a lot more comfortable and you don't have to worry about sizing up your shorts or finding that perfect holster that fits just right. It may print through a t-shirt depending on your build but in the Southeast that's not a big deal.

Where do you find "gun belts". Honestly never crossed my mind.

A Google search for "gun belt" is going to bring up all the usual suspects. They're just belts made to not stretch and sag when a weight hangs on them over time. So, a leather belt will have two layers of leather with a reinforcing core of nylon, steel, kydex, etc. stitched in the middle of it. Your standard leather belt can stretch and sag with the weight of a gun on it, even with IWB carry.

You can find leather gun belts and suitable nylon belts all over the 'net. For leather gun belts, I like those made by Ronin Leather. They're good quality and fairly inexpensive. I've been pleased w/ all 3 of mine. For nylon, I like the Wilderness "Wilderness Instructor's Belt" w/ a nylon buckle. There are many on Amazon made by other companies. I don't fly all that much, but the nylon buckle comes in handy on the rare occasion I do. Plus, when the TSA personnel tells you, "Take off your belt,," is kinda nice to look them in the eye and tell them, "No, it's ok." The last time I flew the TSA person replied back, "Well you're gonna have to be searched if it lights up." I said, "That's ok" and walked on through the metal detector w/o problems.

It definitely feels like everyone knows you're carrying when you first start
The truth is that 90% of people never pay attention to whats going on around them. You're gonna waste a lot of money on different holsters until you find one(s) you like so get ready for that

I carry mine in my purse in summer. If someone snatches my purse, I'll get my bra knife, jump on his back and stab him in his neck until he drops my purse.
In winter a jacket or belly band is my go to.
