Getting the itch for a new rifle. I’ve got a CVA .35 whelen, Tikka .308, Marlin 30-30, Remington 7mm-08.

What should I get next? Mainly a whitetail hunter.

You need a winchester model 70 supergrade, or a sako finnlight, or a nosler m48, or browning BAR

I’d go for a 300 win mag or 7 mag based on your current spread. My next rifle will be an xbolt but lots of good guns being made for not a lot of money.

I just turned my .270 in to a 6.5PRC. I wanted a long action because I reload and wanted to load the bullets out farther. I chose it because the ballistics are very similar to my .300wm so I can burn less powder and have less recoil. I can also use it on just about any animal in North America.

I’ll second the M70. I’ve got one in Safari and want a Supergrade badly. The M48 Carbon will be my next rifle though.

I'm getting the itch too, but I'm thinking more M1 Garand.

Maybe add something for Texas whitetails at distance.

Such as any rifle in Remington 7mm w/140 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips.

Careful though. The .338 Lapua awaits if you tread this path too far. The Siren song is sweet.

Or maybe grab a Model 70 in .257 Roberts. Or go full Rambo with a Ruger Model No. 1 and focus on being the hunter more than a guy who hunts with the best rifle.

Let us know what you pick.

Ps. The correct answer is a Ruger No. 1 in 7mm.

Nonsense!

Op might need a weatherby. A mark V in 257 weatherby mag would be super cool deer medicine.
