I found this article online. Pretty good read. One ice chest held ice for 11 days, damn! LINK

TL:DR. Was there a grizzly bear challenge? Did the Yeti win? Inquiring minds want to know.

Yeti lasted nine days. The 35q inside storage was really only 26q. Icy tech, Orion, etc performed much better

Yeah, most people have access to a walk-in cooler that will fit an ice chest. How about a real world test?

Pre-cooled!

Seriously, what average fisherman has a walk in cooler or freezer big enough to do that?

Ok throughout the precooled ice chest, they will hold for 9-10 days instead of 11. I'm not surprised Yeti was one of the first lose ice. I'm thinking of getting an Orion, but they are a little pricey

I won my 65q and my roadie was $200 at a DU banquet silent auction. Only sticker I have is on my cleaning table. The cooler market is so saturated right now, there's no way any of them are killing it in sales.

When did Orion come about?

I like my 25qt Brute Box once it gets collet off (usually a day) it'll keep a 10 lb bag of ice for 3 to 5 days depending on how often I open it in the back of my truck at work.

terrible writing

Also, wouldn't you precool the coolers open? Wouldn't the cooler just insulate hotter air inside?

surprisingly the yeti was the lightest.

whether you ice last 10 or 11 days. its safe to say any of these actually do hold ice longer than your normal ice chest.

I like the led light option in the Orion's when you open the latches. I think Orion came out earlier this year. frick it I just ordered one online. I'll post about it once I get it and use it

I don't get why they named the coolers Orion and not Jackson. I know it's not important but just curious. It would only help both brands.

My old Icy Tech is a beast compared to my yeti. Too bad they stopped making them.
