I dont think they know how to stop eatting. Mine will eat all his food and then some either by stealing from my kids or off the counter.

I know it's a joke and all, but texas a&m's vet school is considered to be one of, if not the best vet school in the country.

ETA: It's about the equivalent of an engineering degree from MIT.

I'm just kidding buddy. A&M has a damn good Vet School, I think a few of their grads are professors at LSU's school.

What you thinking copperhead?

I've been lurking on this thread for some time now. Good to see you know what actually is wrong with the animal. Glad it wasn't something more serious. Yeah I hate when I suspect I know what it is...and turns out it is exactly that...and I still have to pay the doc. However there's peace of mind knowing it's nothing more than a snake bite.

FWIW I had a Golden retriever mix that his ear would swell up...we'd express it...drain it...and then it would come back. Later found out there was a mocassin (small) biting his ear. Totally screwed up.

99.9999999999% chance is was a cottonmouth. We're filthy with them. I've only seen one copperhead there in my life. It's all swamp.

ETA: I know you were joking, but it was a good chance to throw that out there for those who know more than the vet

Nope. You should have taken the damn dog to the vet for a check up two damn days ago. You took too long to do the right thing.

Good news. I didn't think snake, figured it was to cold for them to be active.

All the catahoulas I had would get snake bit in the neck and never felt pain. Some dogs are just tough.

I would have given it another week. It would have eventually bust.
