we had one on jug about 20 years ago.. got a pic of it somewhere in house...one that was easy 10 feet..
saw one that was caught in a gill net near rockerfeller in 80s that was 300lbs.... was there when it was cleaned...

I dont believe you've seen "multiple" gar bigger than OP's brother's. I also find it kinda fishy that your evidence is a public flickr account of someone who lives in Appilachicola FL who has nothing to do with the fish or the person who shot it, they just want to "raise awareness" for it. I may be way off base here, but thats my personal opinion.
ETA: That is akin to me posting a photo of a trophy buck someone i claim to know shot, and saying that is proof that my lease holds hundreds of B&C record bucks.

How am I a phony? What i was going to originally post in my "no message" post was incorrect. I figured that out after I had typed it and while trying to delete it, accidentally hit submit. I immediately deleted it. That doesn't change the fact that i don't believe this guy.

I agree that it is hard to believe what is not proven. It's hard to just go off of what a guy on the internet says is true, to actually be true. However, I just proved to you that that fish was caught in Monroe. I'm not saying that Monroe only has world record contending size gar fish. I'm saying that I've seen some bigass gar fish, and that is just one of the examples.
