Goodluck, we didn’t see any at all last year, but this year have had a couple gobblers come onto the property. Might be out there soon myself.

The thing that I’ve found that works the best that most people don’t think about is go hunt at a place that has a bunch of turkeys.

Looks good for Sat though.

Will be out there Sat morning hoping to hear some gobbles and see some strutting.

I'll be out there Saturday morning as well... until I have to get to a coach pitch practice

My son graduated HS in Dec. No more of those for me...

I loved doing it but enjoy not doing it almost as much.

I’ve found turkeys. We’ll see how much help I have come Saturday morning.

Good luck. Had some friends introduce me to it 4 years ago. Last year I went as much as possible. This year is going to be more challenging to get after but I do have a weeklong trip lined up to go to West Texas in April. Those rios are a bit easier than the easterns around here.

Good luck…Mississippi has a shitload of turkey. Be careful when you are driving out in the mornings, as I have been seeing literally herds of deer on my way to work.

Has everyone seen the new rules for out of state hunters?

As I understand it, out of state can not hunt public land in MS until the start of April.

Correct. Out of staters were to apply for a lottery/permit if they intended to hunt the first 15 days.

If drawn, you then are allowed to access public ground before April 1.

Absent the permit, welcome to the group sitting back waiting for April 1

A mature turkey cracking the dim, foggy, first light silence with a thunderous gobble will send chills down your spine.

Seeing that white and red head crest over the ridge in gun range is what dreams are made of.

We have much different dreams! haha
I’d rather hear the cracking of leaves under the feet of a nice 3yr old or older buck walking towards me.

I have 2 gobblers that come out with about 15-25 hens/jakes (was 43 durning deer season) everyday. They are actually there now as I just got another picture of the flock. Zero desire to shoot one.
