Not much that I have seen. Usually we get a big push out of Caddo, down 12 mile and into the river.
Bistineau is backed up with salvinia, gates are open but a log jam is stopping everything. It is not able to go over the dam, through Loggy Bayou and into the river.

It's been weird this time to me. I had my boat on Caddo at my camp about two weeks ago during the beginning of this rise and salvinia was everywhere floated out of backwater but it wasn't moving down lake towards the dam due to not a lot of current. I've seen a little bit dumping into the red in Shreveport but nothing like I would expect. Not sure what Bistineau or some of the other lakes more down your way are feeding the river right now.

To tell you how bad it is....All gates have been open and it is at normal pool right now.
The logs have jammed up under the bridge and nobody was doing anything about it so a few residents constructed some type of claw on a rope to free the debris one by one.
Field of salvinia behind it and the gates are due to shut next week.

Last year we had a decent amount of cold weather and higher water and it seemed to really help with the Salvinia. This year unless we get some good freezes I'm afraid all the high water will do is scatter it out and help it spread into more backwater. I was shocked at the amount I saw running Caddo a couple weeks ago.
Sounds like Bistineau is in worse shape.

When I cross the Red, i do not see the lines of green like I saw the last time. Either there is less now in the backwater, or it's not getting flushed. Last one, the red looked like a salad on some days.

************UPDATE 1/8/16 9:00 am***************
As of now we have successfully found relocation pastures for the 200+ head of cattle. We are still keeping lines of communication open in case of any other cattlemen needing assistance in or around the spillway flood zone. Once again, I thank you all so much for your assistance. Everyone that has participated has played a huge part in successfully finding a temporary place for these cattle. Thank you!!

Important!!!!! Please read:
We are looking for cattlemen that have room to house relocated cattle from the morganza spillway area. As most of you know, the spillway will be opened Monday, January 11th. There are 60 head of mature cattle from one rancher and an additional 150 from a few others. If you know anyone that could help in any way please contact the LSU AgCenter immediately. My cell number is 318-542-8045. Please share to spread the word to help out our neighboring cattlemen. Thank you.
Eta- I did not type this. The LSU Ag Center is asking for help & the LSU Ag Ceter typed this. People that laugh at people in need literally makes me sick to my stomach. Y'all are a sick bunch. Congratulations on being high and dry, some people are not as fortunate
