Louisiana Legislature Fails to Override Veto of Constitutional Carry Bill

Sen. Pat Connick, who voted for the concealed carry bill during the regular session, was among three senators who said that they had changed their minds. Connick said he spoke with law enforcement in his area that were in opposition to overturning the veto.

Reminds me of the Republican senators that spent 6 years passing bills to repeal Obamacare knowing Obama was just going to veto it every time. Then as soon as Trump got in office and said send him the bill so he can sign it, a few of them flip flopped and killed it.

I have the mindset that they are all scumbags. That way I never get disappointed in their actions. I talked to my state rep about the veto session. Basically they are all a bunch of pussies and are scared of the Governor. I gave him some studies to use from the Rand corporation that showed Shall issue CCW and constitutional carry results were inconclusive on increasing firearm homicides.

When I took my concealed carry class 6 years ago in BTR, I was terrified at the thought of my fellow students carrying loaded weapons. Most of them had no prior knowledge of and displayed no competence with handguns. The limited amount of knowledge that was imparted to us was better than nothing though.

Your reasoning is a terrible argument. The classes wont stop and there are benefits to getting a permit.
This just allowed law abiding citizens to conceal carry. A criminal isnt going to follow the law anyway, so this only impacts law abiding citizens.
