Makes you appreciate the older, trained gentlemen when they defend themselves. its not run and shoot over shoulder.....then again, the perps die vs leg wounds

Honest question: why are alot of you so opposed to firearms training and licensing?
Is it the cost and/or inconvenience?
Or, is it the principle of the matter (2nd Amendment right)?
I just don't see requiring someone to have a license as removing the 2nd amendment.....if they flat out didn't allow anyone but LOE to carry, I'd get it.
Not being antagonistic today, rather really trying to understand the outrage.

All of the above.
Rights shouldn't have costs or be inconvenienced. That would make it a privilege.

What problem does it solve? The license only applies to law abiding citizens. The training is a joke. Id bet that half of concealed carry permit holders dont even carry.

Do you ask someone before you speak? Do you go get a license to talk?
There are around 20 something states that have constitutional concealed carry, the statistics didnt magically jump and everyone didnt magically start killing each other. If the criminals are going to do what they want, why make it harder for law abiding citizens to protect themselves?
Will it make a cops job harder? Who cares! And I say that as someone with multiple family members and friends that are LEO.

Now switch this to voting. This is the exact argument those who argue against providing an ID or having to go to a polling place to vote make.
I have always been of the opinion that most rights come with responsibilities. I have no real issue with required training/licensing for concealed carry but I can see either side.
How do you feel about required hunter safety courses? Seems the same logic should apply to both.

Franklin Foil is completely gutless. Zero backbone. And he was posing with Cassidy because he aspires to follow his path. Two birds of a feather.
And I’ve already talked about that scumbag Connick. A short fat John Bel, Jr.

Yea this is what I'm saying... What the hell is wrong with requiring training to concealed carry?
You took a hunters safety course to be able to hunt
You took a boaters course to be able to operate a boat
You took a driving test to get your driver's license

That's good. You should legally be allowed to conceal carry.
Do you think every firearm owner can complete the practical shooting portion... even with their eyes open?

If you don't want to pay the fee to get the license, just conceal carry anyway.
If you're doing it correctly, you'll never get caught or prosecuted. In the event you have to use it and do so correctly, you wont get prosecuted.
I got my CCL. I carried once. It expired. If I ever need to conceal carry again, I will.

Hunting is not explicitly protected by the Constitution.

But the firearm you use to do so is...
So should you not have to take a hunter's safety course?
inb4 you only hunt with sling shots and bow and arrow.

so, it's a principle of the matter stance.......fair enough. I was honestly asking.
Rando, had a lady in our class paint the room with a pistol when she had questions on whether it was loaded properly. Terrifying. At a minimum, the instructor gave her a tutorial on the operation as well as some safety pointers. You can't tell me it didn't have value, because prior to that exchange she easily could've killed herself or someone else in the name of constitutional right.
Hey, call it like it is (and by the letter of the law you are correct), but don't act like some people getting at least this nominal training doesn't have some benefit.
