My wife has taken a great liking to my AR 15 and for all intents and purposes, it's hers now.

So I'm wanting an AR 10. A good, reliable rifle but nothing over the top. Help me spend my money.

Any desire to build your own?

Take a look at the Ruger SFAR. Military arms channel did a review on YouTube.

Not particularly. I have enough things that I get sidetracked on and take up too much time.

But if thats what I had to do, I could do it.

Building an AR-10 isn’t as straight forward as an AR-15. You have to make sure the components are compatible more than with AR-15.

At some point this year I’ll probably be picking up a Ruger SFAR.

How much of it?

Going to be hard to beat an Aero M5 without spending twice as much.

If you want an AR10, Armalite.

LR 308 or AR 308 is what you want if you're putting one together.

Ruger SFAR for a complete rifle, Aero Precision M5 platform for sections or parts.

Be careful mixing AR10 and DPMS style parts, they probably will not work.

Money isn't a problem. My wife ok'd the purchase without knowing anything else because she enjouthe AR 15. She didn't ask how much so I'm not going to tell her.

That being said, I'm not necessarily looking for something in the lines of Daniel Defense because I'm not trying to go hard-core. Something good, solid and does what I need it to do.

LWRC.

In my opinion, that's Aero Precision. I have everything from Aero to LWRC. My favorite is probably my Fulton Armory, but that's mostly sentimental. The Aero is probably the best value proposition.

If by hard-core you mean overpriced I think that’s a good move. They’re nice but you’re paying for looks, not improved function. That’s true with a lot of the boutique brands, I’m not picking on DD.

I'm not cutting corners at all. I just don't need some fancy crap that I don't need in a complete rifle.

I'm not talking about optics, etc. I'll buy good shite for it.

Hello SR25!

In all honesty, what is your primary purpose for the rifle?

Is it just a range toy? Is it going to be used for precision shooting or hunting? Is it mainly a dual purpose (best of both worlds) type? And how much do you plan to shoot it?

Larue and KAC jump to the top of the list if this is truly the case.

Is LaRue worth the money? Been a big fan of their work for some time but have that question now that a 5.56 is >$2k and any 7.62 is well over $4k. Their website doesn't provide the best explanation of differences between the OBR v PredatOBR v PredatAR.
That Siete bolt action sure looks nice though!

I have a diamond back built rifle in 6.5 creedmore that I bought when the turnip got elected. Wanted 308 but that’s what I could get my hands on. Seems like a solid rifle and may get a 308 upper later on. Price locally was $1500
