I have an echo cs590.

Very good saw. But look at Stihl was well. They’re the gold standard

I have both Echo and Stihl. They are both good saws but the echo is much easier to start.

I have a timber business, own timber land, and use chain saws very regularly for many years. Like most who do this, I will only buy Stihl.

If money is no object, the Red Max GZ550 is a bad dude but I’d buy 2 cheap azz Poulans because they all break and it’s nice just to grab the back up.

Stihl or Echo. I have both.

If you're a "fix it yourself" kind of guy I'd say Echo due to readily availability of parts. I recently discovered during an attempt to rebuild a Stihl weed trimmer that you cannot buy an OEM piston/jug. I'll only own Echo trimmers from this point out.

I also have this one for many years now with an upgraded chain. Can't go wrong.

Echo CS 590 - The Timber Wolf. Magnesium cases and no primer bulb and a few other pro saw features. Good balancing saw. I dont own one but have used and done maintenance on one. Easy starting and reliable.

I have the CS600 and it’s been a great saw. We bought it when the kids started selling firewood a few years ago.

I bought a stihl 211c for exactly what you stated and cleaning lanes at the lease. I was skeptical of the easy start at first but now I couldn’t see going back to a regular pull cord.

I have both Stihl and Husqvarna. People say Stihl is the best, but I am partial to my Husky 450 Rancher.

As stated earlier. Don't over look the Husqvarna. I have the 455 Rancher and it has been a beast.

Having said that. Anyone that cuts trees for a living......Stihl is the gold standard.

Stihl MS271 Farm Boss
About $400

It’ll still be running when you are dead.

Bought a Stihl MS 290 about 13 years ago and it gets worked constantly. We live on 20+ acres of woods in central MO and heat our home with firewood. So, we cut a lot if wood and there is the general clean up of fallen trees, etc.

Have had no issues with the Stihl.

I had a little Poulan and it did little stuff when we lived in the city but when it died I got the Stihl. It was overkill at the time but is perfect now.

Right after I made my post, I loaded up my Echo and went to my farm.

There was a large sweetgum that had fallen across the road. I cleaned it up and then went and worked on the back side of the dam of my lake and cut down several more. Of those there were 5 pines that were ~ 30” in diameter. Saw never slowed down until it rain out of gas. Which it was time to leave when it did that.
