I had a scope that came with a rifle I just picked up. Both turret caps were missing and no luck searching online so I emailed them about OEM replacements. Within 15 minutes of sending I had a reply from customer service informing me they had already pulled, boxed up and were shipping me replacements free of charge. No parts or shipping costs.
Impressive.

I need to order my CDS from them

I just ordered a new one yesterday. Vx3hd 4.5-14 x 40.

Growing up I always got the vibe that they were "the Cadillac of rifle scopes." Got one yesterday actually, and looking forward to sighting it in and learning more about them.

Leupold got hate becasue their scopes weren’t the greatest at taking adjustments.

I’ve always liked them. They’re good scopes for the price. They aren’t top of the line but aren’t pieces of shite either
Just a solid rifle scope that will last a long time

They also got lazy for a period when it came to innovating

They make a decent scope, but their customer service is indeed excellent

They have always been my go to.
The 3x9 40mm VXII on my BAR .270 lays 'em down.
I shoot it twice every year just before the start of the season to make sure it is on. I haven't had to make an adjustment in probably 8 to 10 years. I don't bang my rifle around like I did when I was kid either, so there is that.

I always liked them but boy where they hard to sell.

They have great customer service. They have replaced my binoculars twice. Once I fricked them up and they replaced them. The second time I sent them off to be cleaned and they just sent me a new pair. I guess there was a scratch on the lens?

Yeah I didn't get the "Professional Sniper Champion" vibe but always heard good things and noticed they were priced a good bit more and marketed a little different than cheaper models of Bushnell, tasco, etc (which is what I always got).

While I have no long-term direct experience with the products or their customer service, I have head legendary stories about their customer service since I was in short pants.

What I hate is the custom shop going away. I want a 2.5-8 with a TMR reticle.

They make a solid product. My only experience with their customer service was exceptional.

What are you considering top of the line? US Optics? Leica? Swarovski?
Not many people are putting 3-5k dollars scopes on their guns.
I would say the VX-6HD is pretty much top of the line. Leupold is absolutely a premium product.

I just picked up a BAR MKII Safari Grade in .270, the guy I bought it from said he put about 20 rounds through it since it was made in 1996, its in amazing condition. It just has a cheap Tasco scope the guy through on it but I was looking into putting a VXII on it. I think this is a sign I should go with it for sure now.

I have 2 range finders that the led was fading so bad that you couldn’t make out the bottom half of each one. Changed several batteries with same problems. Sent them to leupold and got the same ones back about 3 months later basically saying I was SOL. Both are/were good when they worked. After this I’m done with leupold. Vortex range finders . Swarovski scopes since.
