Dude, I got a kobalt leaf electric blower, and i am in love after years still. i can use it indoors and outdoors. much lighter. no maintenance. only mildly less powerful than my last gas powered. i can use it in my car etc.

i've had probably 3 blowers in total by now, and i wouldn't hesitate to get electric on this type of equipment for home use again. granted, i don't even know how it will go bad.

to add to that, i have gotten the kobalt interchangable hedge trimmer (baller), and weedeater (sucks), and chainsaw (sucks but i don't need it often so it works for me). out of the last 2 years of owning it I believe i've had 2 of my 4 batteries die. so i'm still able to replace and recharge constantly and haven't had to re-purchase batteries yet.

but regardless, i would use an electric blower even if i didn't have the convenience of other tools to use with the same battery packs.

Residential
not that much leaves or area to blow grass and leaves off.
Battery powered would be something I would consider.
Brand it depends.
I am out of the business, but did sell Dewalt.
Not a bad tool.

Dewalt- has alot of tools you can use with the batteries.
Especially older people that do not have alot of area to trim or need for a blower.
Trimmer usually 20 to 30 minutes high and 30 to 40 minutes low power.
Blower around the same.
Most people buy one tool with the battery and charger.
Then they just buy the bare tool for less money.

20V uses one cell that cells power is done go to the next cell.

Kobalt and Ego- less tools probably little more power & weight.

Just depends on what you would like to accomplish.

Anyone have any of the Ryobi electric yard tools? I've been looking at some recently at Home Depot and they look reasonable for 40V tools.

Have to get one with a 40 volt battery.

My Greenworks, brushless motored, one works great. My dad's Walmart store brand one works fine too.

This, some of the Hyper Tough stuff can be surprisingly good.

I have lots of electric tools, mostly Ryobi (cost + function ratio is great), a fair selection of Dewalt (has been slightly superior to Ryobi, but I'm not sold on them being 2x as good, which tends to be the price).

Awhile back I picked up the Walmart Hypertough stuff on clearance, like $30 for a 4 tool set. Generally not quite as good as Ryobi... but things like the sawzall were just as good.
So, I picked up a few of the yard tools... the HT weedeater not quite as good as the Ryobi I have. The hedge trimmer is definitely good enough.
I picked up a HT blower that uses 2 batteries (so I guess 40v), it laughs at the Ryobi 18v I have.

Should I get a dewalt blower, or any recs for a gas or lithium powered blower.

Unless you are doing some very minimal stuff, get a better battery powered brand. Dewalt makes great tools, but 20v for things like blowers, weed eaters, pole saw, etc, isn't enough.
I got the pole saw and hedge trimmer, and even upgraded my battery to a higher amp hour, and i've just about had enough of it. The pole saw is good for about 4 cuts, and i'm talking about cutting a branch that isn't thicker than your wrist, and then the battery dies.

If you're going battery powered, it needs to be 40v or 56v. The EGO blower i got recently has been awesome, but i will say i am surprised at how heavy it is.

I have been really happy with my Echo leaf blower. It is almost 10 years old. The only thing I have had to fix on it was the bubble.

We have some Dewalt leaf blowers at work. They are nice. I have never really tested them out to see how long they will last on a fully charged battery. They do small jobs well.

You can probably get a new carb and fuel lines for less than $30 on Amazon.

Recarbbed my 15 y/o echo this year and it runs like new.

Went with a Kobalt 80V about 3 years ago and love it. Plenty of power with the weedeater and the leaf blower kicks arse and so he far the battery last plenty long. Now the downside ... Lowes discontinued their line of 80V tools a couple years ago.

I have the Echo PB 8010
at 79cc's it's got the power of a small dirt bike on your back...it is a beast!

I will say this, pull starting it sometimes feels like I'm breaking my wrist if too much compression builds up.

I have the same, 80v weedeater and blower attachment. The battery is basically the same as the other 80v ones though. I got a warranty replacement on mine last winter, they still offer some support.
