Looking to get a jambalaya pot and burner. I would be cooking for 10-15 most of the time but possibly 20-30 on some occasions. Would a 10 gal be fine for that? I'm interested in the one in the LINK due to it seeming like it's at a great price point compared to Bayou Classic set ups. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Check out Krazy Kajun, have the roll around combo and it’s great.

Get a 10 gallon in the chance you cook for more but a 5 would be plenty for you.

You can always cook 5 gal in a 10 gallon pot

You can’t cook 10 gal in a 5

I have a 10 gallon pot and can feed 69 servings pretty easy along with white beans.

I would recommend getting a custom stand with caster wheels and the wind shield. Buy once cry once. R and R welding or Shennendoah hardware in BR has them.

I think it's lamendola's in Gonzales. I got a 20 and a stand with casters that's enclosed, a lid, and a curved spatula oh, I think I paid 400. If I had to do it over again oh, I would get a 10. The 20 is just so hard to move around after you cook oh, you can muscle it up by yourself but a 10 would be so much easier

I’m gonna go against the grain and say get smaller than a 10. If you mostly plan to cook for 10-15 and up to 30 on occasion, look for a 6 gallon.

You can cook jambalaya for 30 in a 4 gallon pot.

Thanks for all the advice. I live in North Louisiana so I'm going to go check out a few local places and see if they have them in town when I get back in town from work.

That burner looks like it is designed for boiling crawfish in a 100 qt pot.

IMO....that burner is way to big to be cooking a jambalaya.

I bought a 38,000 BTU burner [similar to your pic. but smaller] for frying fish. It is to big. I put nails in about half the burner hole to reduce the gas flow. I have to turn the gas down so it only has a flame about 1/4 inch high.

If it wasn't out of stock I'd order it right now. Going to see if I can find it elsewhere.

I’m pretty aggressive with stirring. I’d be a little nervous that stand would flip. I’d get a stand that’s flared out at the bottom.

1 or 2 drinks in, I’m not so bad. 5 or 6 and I start to get heavy handed. I had to switch to an aluminum paddle for stirring because my wood one kept wearing out.

When buying new couple things to look for do not get one where the ring around the pot touches all the way like in the picture you want some spacers in the ring as shown later in the post they get hot the pot is heavy and with out spacers they weld together sorta. Also always buy bigger than ya need. It's eassier to cook it half full makes for better stirring but ya have the room if ya need it.
