Get the 5. Way more day to day use. I have a 10 and use it for big pots of pork and to make gratons. I use my smaller cast irons more for jambalaya and other things.

5 gallon pot filled will feed a ton of ppl!

Look for something with a more flat bottom. Them rounded ones dont brown the meat as well. Also, you will do fine with a 5 Gallon.

See I find the opposite in heavy cast iron.

Definitely not this.

Round is better. Stir just the bottom middle.

My dad has a 10 gallon. Homemade. Cooked for a lot of people people still easy to handle.

Did a jambalaya for my rehearsal dinner in it. Feed the entire group.

A round bottom pot is by far the best for browning meat.

I don’t know the science behind it, so for me a round bottom pot is like magic. Like a left handed batter in baseball, I don’t know why, it just works better.
