I’m heading down with a group on Wednesday. Came to the outdoor board to see if anyone was discussing it. Will be my first time down - looking forward to it.

What are the options down there for a drink or some food? I figure options are limited, and places will be more crowded than normal because of the rodeo.

the restaurant and bar will be full tilt thursday friday and most def saturday night. if you are fishing in the rodeo, they feed you at the banquet on saturday night. if I'm not mistaken, in years past, they have also had food for contestants on either thursday or friday, can't remember. its been boiled crabs and shrimp. can't say for this year. even then, you can go upstairs and eat, the food has always been pretty good. make sure at some point, you order the seafood baked potato.

now then....moving forward.... should you and your crew decide you want to hit the town, maybe a local bar or 2, i wouldn't suggest it. you will pass the Den lounge... although it looks like a nice little watering hole, might not be your best option. although we've been there more than once, its best to maybe steer clear.

This cannot be overstated. Nothing but trouble in that place. Serious trouble, if you are in there on the wrong night.

Used to go there with local people/charter captains. Never had a problem.

we've done the same.... its been a few years now, but one saturday night after the faux pas everybody went. we were with Boola and it was a lot of fun. been a few other times. same situation, never had problems. but...... still a really, really bad idea.. many a heads busted in there, and worse. the place doesn't carry that reputation for nothing. i just wanted to give a heads up is all. the marina is usually pretty fun on that saturday night
