I've got a deer down. I thought it was a doe but turns out it's a button buck.

Seen nothing so far. But I’m in it for the long haul. Got beer, heater, soup, and a pee jug. I’m good to go.

Had several deer on cell camera at a stand 400 yards away. So they their moving this morning. Just not by me thus far.

Weighed 160. Rack is uneven on the skull, super tall and no brow tines.

Up and ready since 1130 or so. Weather is blowing in later, hopefully they are moving to wherever they want to be when it hits. In a wooded spot with a decent number of sitting windows, 25 ft up a hickory that is swaying nicely in the wind.

Saw a lone doe in a yard on the way in. Definitely a sign, of what I have no idea. Chilly but I'm dressed right, thankfully.

We’ve cleaned 3 does, filled 5 feeders, went grocery shopping, cooked breakfast, put 2 cell cams out, and dropped the deer off at the processor already

Cold weather comes in tomorrow so we will sit a lot longer. Good time Charlie was shooting up the woods this am. He shot 3 times and I shot once.

Does weighed 115, 100,100 lbs.

Damn I need to head south a little! I just watched a groundhog mosey through... Not sure I need to shoot one of those. Hoping it means things are moving in general.

Hunting with my little girl in my dad’s old field. She’s got the 243 and I have the BLR 3006
My middle son is in his tripod along the creek. He’s excited because it’s the first good wind we’ve had that’s good for that stand.

Found a nice spread of Oysyer shrooms headed back to the stand on a dead pecan tree to pick later.

Of course we do. I’ve got a wench right there and we quarter them put some ice on them and run them to the processor.

I don’t gut my deer. I load them up, drive to my skinning rack, and take care of them there.

Back at it in Ouachita Parish
Rained all morning.
Saw horns walking in and hope it’s a good omen for things to come.
