I’m in north east Montana heading back south today. We have been up here bird hunting and rifle season opens today for deer. The temps have warmed, yesterday morning it was -14 when we got in the lay down blinds, this morning it is a lot warmer at 14 outside

Headed out in 2 hours for an afternoon evening hunt. We’ve scouted this area and there are plenty of rubs and scrapes. Our tree stands are I a. Good place. I have a good feeling about today.

Shot a doe this morning at 830 myself. Shot at 35 yards and sounded/looked like a good hit. Checked for blood after about 20 mins, found my arrow and nothing but stomach contents on it. Not a drop of blood. Eased out and let it sit till 12:30. Went back and didn’t find a drop of blood. However we ended up stumbling upon her after an hour of searching about 100 yards from the shot. She seems to be bleeding good where she fell. While cleaning her it appeared the stomach was intact, still can’t figure out what the hell happened. The shot placement looked great at the entry and exit but only guts on the arrow and no blood. Shooting 2 blade Rage hypodermics. Just glad we found her

If y’all hear crunching, that’s my four year old eating Cheetos in this shooting house. Dumb move on my part.
