That's the correct answer really imo. Tons of fishing what with all the oxbows and the Big Muddy and it's back water/ bar pits. Plus the best deer and arguably duck hunting in the state.

My exact thoughts. i love backwater fishing more than any other and the bucks and ducks are there if you have the land for them

If I could have it any way, I'd hunt Concordia and fish Venice. Cameron just seems like a good balance that isn't as crowded as a lot of places

There is nothing anyone can say that can make an argument saying there is better duck hunting anywhere in LA, IMO.

The peterpumpers that think the SWLA marsh is better hunting fell off a turnip truck somewhere along the way.

2 hours to venice, 2.5 to GI. I don't really go offshore much. It's 45 minutes to delacroix for me which is my favorite place to go fishing. I can deer, duck and turkey hunt 15 minutes away, although the deer and duck hunting isn't award winning. Still allows me to get out into the beautiful outdoors and try to bring some meat home.

Madisonville, Covington on the river, Krotz Springs/Port Barre, or New Roads

OLA beats the pants off of everywhere else in the state in terms of fishing (freshwater, inshore and offshore is as good or better than anywhere else in the state), and has access to very good duck hunting (although probably not the best). Obviously you're losing out on turkey hunting but there are some good deer hunting areas available within striking range of NOLA as well.

you can offshore fish in nola?

I grew up hunting there. My uncle was the original founder of Strong Built deer stands. Cousins lived in Waterproof
