I'd like to recommend the Savage Axis 2

Anyone needing a cheap accurate rifle. Get one.
I bought one for my little boy's first birthday and finally got around to sighting it in.
Short barrel, chambered in 300 blackout, cheaper vortex scope. Did my initial sighting in at 45 yd, the initial adjustment was 85 clicks up and 25 clicks over.
Got back at 100, Three shots later and the penny size Target top left was knocked out.
Shooting Hornady 110 grain, decided to take a shot at the 200-yard Target, was expecting 2 in low and instead hit 1 in high.
Decided to take a shot at the 6-in Target at 335 yd. Quick math said two lines down on the scope would be roughly 20 in high. Fired one shot and hit 1.5 in right of center. That's with a nine power $200 scope.
If anyone needs a cheap rifle, I cannot recommend these enough.
Edit: for those wondering about the caliber choice, I wanted zero recoil for his first rifle and we will never shoot past 200. The short barrel and suppressor will also work well for him.

I used to do the sight in's for a local gun range. The Savage Axis was by far the most accurate and easiest to sight in. Every one of them, no matter what caliber, was a complete tack driver with tiny groups.

Savage and Ruger have always made a very accurate cheap barreled action since they both went to the floating bolt head, the trigger and stock are just where they save the mfg costs. Ruger got a little too cute with the second generation Americans and is having issues, hopefully savage doesn’t make the same mistake.
