Last year's tally was 16. 5 hunters and all taken from a stand. This year, we did not see a single pig whether on camera or while hunting. I know they will be back but it greatly improved the deer killing. Just under 150 acres, East Texas.

Any tips for night hunting with thermal? Never done it, but have access to thermal scope. Was just going to sit in box stand near feeder. Place is too thick to stalk without making a bunch of noise.

Thick woods that is what I do. We do a lot of field hunting and have the farmer dump peas or we put out corn piles the day before and refresh as needed.

Dumb question, but do you have spotlight on feeder or thermal binocs to see them coming? Or just listen and get ready? Will be hunting small food plot with feeder or corn pile.

I just scan every so often with my scop when sitting a box. I hunt with digital night vision. When sitting by our barn lane I’ll watch tv sit by the campfire etc and set my camera notifications to on then when I get a picture walk outside and crack one

Much appreciated advice. Hopefully will report back with results. Should be a good time regardless.

Not sure where you hunt, but in SWMS we just set up cell cameras in front feeders. Creep in when you get a notification.

I use a thermal on my rifle. I also use cell cams on all my feeders at 3 different properties. Running 15 cell cams year around so when I see a bunch of hogs start getting feeders I make a trip and thin them out.

While I’m on those properties I bring 2 rifles and hunt the evening and sit until a few hours after dark with the thermal. If nothing comes in an hr or two after dark I’ll trip all the feeders, go eat dinner and wait for the cams to go off. Once they go off I’ll jump on the sxs and get within a few hundred yards and walk in with a tripod and thermal setup.

My other couple spots is a 1000 acres of farm land planted so if there’s crops we hunt those and if there’s not we put out corn. This is typically riding around every hour or two scanning the fields and corn spots. Once we identify the pigs we head that way and shut the sxs off a few hundred yards out and stalk them.

Field hunting is was better because you get to shoot a lot more at running pigs . In the woods you may get one or two at most then they are in the brush.

So far it looks like we are up to 23. If you kill any just add the previous number plus what you have for a final total so I don’t have to add all the totals.

Example 23+2=25

Wonder if we can bust 500 as a group.

I was hog free three years ago. Now I've got at least twenty on camera. And there's some big ones.

Just add to the total so we can keep a running total.

This will be a year-long source of frustration for you.

OB posters are smarter than the average OT poster, but even they can't (1) limit posts to their 2026 kills and (2) follow such a complex math instruction.

We’ve been saving all of our used cooking oil in 5 gallon buckets. When bucket gets full, pour in front of your blind. Don’t pour in a trail because they root a small pond where the oil is.

Well if all these assholes would get in line I’d do one every year to see if we can beat the previous year total

The pig man filmed a show off the delcambre canal a couple weeks ago.
8 airboats and a couple packs of dogs later they had 47 dead hogs.
