We don't lure in fish and shoot them. We hook them on a line. There would be no bites without bait.

you could go find beds and start snagging.

wouldnt that be the equivalent to hunting bedding areas?

i already know you'll disagree somehow

Some types of fishing it does, but trolling or dropping a chunk of squid for a snapper or grouper takes zero skill. It can still be fun.

I’ve hunted over both feeders and just broadcasting corn the weekend I go up to the lease. I’ve seen more deer without feeders present.

Having a good food plot in the right location will be more beneficial than feeders. But for some, that’s not an option. No reason to condemn a hunter who is watching a feeder.

I could certainly understand the appeal of someone who has land and manages it, puts in a lot of work in it, etc.

When I’ve hunted private land Ive just shown up, I don’t have any skin in the game and don’t really like it but go every few years go mainly to visit family, so again I could see how it would be different for those that do all the work and are invested.

So back to the original OP, I bet there is satisfaction in that.

(When I go I desperately want to strike off in the woods and look for sign but they more or less stay 100% out of the timber and only hunt food plots).

Our food plots and broadcasted corn is normally for my kids to hunt. If I’m by myself I’m hunting transition areas off of the food plots. Trying to catch big boys cruising.

Only acceptable with rabbits, squirrels, and raccoons.

Both take a tremendous amount of skill.

Properly setting and adjusting a spread and presenting trolled lures/bait is part art / part science. It is far more involved than simply dragging a bait or lure behind a moving boat. When you are in the presence of someone who knows what they are doing it appears easy but most people would have no clue how to do it for themselves and be successful...outside of the blind pig finding an acorn.

As for squidding again, boat positioning, presentation, rigging....it takes some serious skill to consistently catch quality bottom fish in numbers. Far more than merely blind casting 1000s of times a trip. It may not be as technical as fly fishing but it is not simply a matter of dropping a bait over the side and winding a fish up....

just don’t get the thrill of killing an animal over bait.

Sitting in a shooting house overlooking a corn feeder isn’t hunting, baws.

So how do you feel about fishing with bait?

One of my favorites.

I like earlier in that show Bobby imagines how the hunt will go.

What’s your stance on shooting ducks over flooded corn?

It’s shooting, not hunting. Might as well shoot a cow. It’s about the same thing

How much rig fishing experience would you say you have exactly? Grouper or snapper on a rock pile easy; yanking them thru couple hundred feet of barnacle encrusted pipe is a different story. Trolling takes zero skill? Come on man.
