you think you can just step in here and be told where all the good clubs are at?

If you are looking for the best....
I think the Coastal Club has an opening 750,000 to enter, 100,000/year dues.

100k a year? The coastal club? Where is this mythical place you speak of?

No I am not just getting into hunting. I have Ben hunting since I was a kid. Just looking to get a new Deer rifle and scope. I have also recently gotten a new truck and never had a leveling kit before and wanted to know some opinions.

Just curious...
As for your question, I can't really help ya. No club I know of doesn't have a long waitlist already.

Ha! It's not mythical. I've hunted there. It's in Bell City about 3 miles from where I hunt. There are several clubs in Louisiana that are that expensive and some more expensive. The best of which is called Oak Grove. The Marsh Club is also similar in quality but with less ducks lately.

All the good clubs will have waiting lists. Check the Advocate and Louisiana Sportsman Classifieds for openings. Usually if there are openings being posted in the paper or online, the club isn't great, but they can be a great way to make friends and open doors to other clubs. Word of mouth is the best way to get in to a good one. Find friends in good clubs and get them to vouch for you and put you on the waiting lists.

if you are willing to go to north la. check up there for next year. weyerhauser (sp?) will be implementing a rather substantial per acre increase which will cause many smaller clubs up there to either increase dues up to even 36% and/or add members...

Most likely too late for this year, but there may be a couple openings pop up if current members miss their dues.
If you have friends that are in clubs ask them if they allow guests. Most don't mind bringing friends. That and WMAs may be your best bet this late in the year.

This is a prerequisite for getting into every club that I know of anyway.
