How to reset hinge screws in Igloo ice chest

I have an igloo and the holes for the hinges have worn out. Short of just moving the hinges over, is there something that can be used to fill the holes so the screws can be reset in the existing holes? I have already used larger screws prior.

I have seen YouTube videos where they melt plastic zip ties to fix similar issues. May be worth a try.

Get a better ice chest.

I would take a piece of 1/4" thick starboard, about 1" wide and run the distance between the screws and use longer screws.
OR you could buy a new ice chest.

You could overdrill the holes, fill them with epoxy, and then re-drill new holes.
Just move the hinges, or get a piano hinge and use that instead.

I've always removed the plastic hinges and replaced them each with two pieces of nylon strap like an old dog leash or ratchet strap. Just screw them in next to the old hole. If you have any old leather tack that works well, too.

Fill holes with 2 part epoxy. Let dry and redial holes.

JB weld, predrill, use the same screws.
For a stripped hole in wood I typically just use toothpicks but I doubt that would work on a cooler.

Had an old rubber hose I cut in half length wise and just screwed it in the top and bottom, just move the screw over a bit.

Need a piece of fire hose or some leather straps and use those as hinges

I've used an old seatbelt and ran it the length like a piano hinge and 20 ss screws. Works but some thing stiffer like a HD ratchet strap would be a bit better.

Drill through cooler and lid, then use SS machine screws with a nut/fender washer.

Get some flat nylon strap that they use to strap loads down on a trailer. Cut it about 3" with a hot butter knife and use that and some 3/4" stainless wood screws for your hinge. They will outlast your ice chest.

if you want the ghetto answer, stick a piece of 100# mono In the hole and reinstall the screws, then snip off the excess. Won’t last forever but neither will your hinges

same as the fire hose but an old coozie works for a year or two move the screws over.
