Reading comments on the SP Facebook page leads me to believe that there are more than a few people that are not real big on the Landry’s in Pierre Part. Troy in particular.

Anybody have firsthand knowledge of how his PP neighbors really feel about him?

I've heard this from several people. It's gotten much worse because of SP

ETA: what year did you graduate Albany?

Absolutely no way i would mess with him. The way he manhandles 1500 lb gators shows that old man strength is real

I don't know anything about the area or the people, but I wonder how much of it is jealousy vs any real reason?

Some people just cant stand to see someone else be successful.

Allegedly has a lot to do with him blocking off waterways that he claims to own.

It's not people being jealous of his success.

People don't like him because they have fished and hunted in water ways for generations that he is now gating off because of his new found fame and power

frick him

The Partians I know seem to dislike him, mostly because of blocking canals as mentioned already.

It isn't because of fame and power

Does he own it or not? I found a couple parcels between Belle River and Lake Verrett using the OnX app that show Troy Landry as the owner. If he’s blocking access to his own property, I don’t see the problem. Thought this board didnt like trespassers?

Another thought, maybe he didnt care about restricting access before, but when he got famous maybe a lawyer told him he needed to restrict access to protect himself from possible liability issues if someone got hurt

I don't know about the locals, but he can eat a bag of rotten dicks as far as I'm concerned.
I've either had my own or family had a camp around there for my entire life. He has gated up so many canals that I have fished for almost 40 years.

If he owns them he has the right to do that. Thank the crappy Louisiana laws for that.

I've got no clue how the law on canals and swamps works around there, but the words some of you guys are using are the exact same words that the locals around here say when I catch them poaching on my deer property.

Troy Landry or Jimmy Joe, it does not matter. People all over S Louisiana are hated for blocking canals they own or lease. It's as common as the nutrias that swim the same canals

I watch the show now mainly to hear them talk, it's just somewhat entertaining. The show itself has run it's course. Everyone knows that you just let the gator tire itself, or pull it up slowly and shoot it, no real drama at all.

Plus the announcer talking about the "beast" on the line, and Holden pulls it in the boat with one hand.

They create a lot of unreal drama, but I guess that is what TV does.

This board loves trespassers when suspended by water. If you build an aqueduct from your bathtub to a local bayou, you'll have a surface drive in your bathroom in under 3 hours.
