Everyone knows that you just let the gator tire itself, or pull it up slowly and shoot it, no real drama at all.

I got pulled for a WMA gator hunt lottery a few years ago. When I went to pickup the tags from LDWF, I had to sit through a rules/safety meeting and the first thing they told us was it was nothing like whats shown on Swamp People. Those guys intentionally agitate the gators to get them thrashing around for the cameras. In reality it was just pulling the line up slowly and shooting it when the head broke water.

I am from Thibodaux, but don't know much about him other than his family is in the crawfish business. I met him several years ago walking up the steps at an LSU football game with by son who has Down Syndrome. Troy saw Matthew and motioned for him to come over. We did not know him from Adam, and he was super to Matt. Tells me a lot about the man. Like others have said, if he owns the canal, he does have a legal right to gate it.

We if he or his family is paying property tax on those canals, he's got every right to.

Troy was a nice guy the few times we spoke. Met him first last spring when the water on Belle River got way up. My buddy has a camp on same road where Troy as about 3 rent houses and we were picking stuff up to save from water he came over and chatted with us for awhile

I cannot stand the saying "we hunted that land and fished those waters for years and now we cant" NEWSFLASH DICK if you wanted to continue you should have bought it, payed taxes, stayed in good grace's of the owner, pitched in, SOMETHING. It is that dang easy. IT is not your land you do not pay taxes on it so you have zero right to be on it then or now. Permission and privilege have curbed in the mind into some type of ownership and right and I'm sick of it in this State. We own property and do not allow anyone on it ever for this very reason. Folks are mad at Landry for gating his land and keeping you from stealing off of it. No different than Landry putting a lock on the door of his home to keep you from stealing out of his fridge. SAME DIFFERENCE. Get over your self pitty, and petty azz disposition and grab your nuts and be a man...........................mic drop for land owners.

I don't blame him

I'm sure he's consulted counsel and he isn't a dummy
