I bought a SBE2, american or classic, depending which store you in. Black synthetic, only comes with 3 chokes and doesn't have the comfortech stock. Bought it on tax free weekend on the 24mt same as cash deal @ Simmon's in Bastrop. You won't even miss $50 a month.

my sons were given each the Stoeger M3000. I shot is this past weekend for the first time. It is a fantastic gun for the price. There really is nota need to pay mire for a semi-auto in my opinion. Unless you want to try to impress someone that you overspent for a shotgun.

I have a Stoeger m3500 and really like it. Had it 2 years now and never a problem. i think it is great value for the money, but I do think you need to be a bigger guy for this gun. It is larger in the forearm than the benellis, it has a heavy trigger, it is a heavy gun, and it is inertia driven so more recoil.

I recently got a franchi affinity and love it. I've ran about 100 shells through it so far with out a hiccup. The franchi intensity is the same as the affinity but is capable of shooting 3.5" shells.

Used SBE I. Can use for boat paddle too if you get in a bind.

I am looking at the Intensity as well, I really want to stick with Rem and get a VersaMax but am leery with all the QC problems they have had.

I will be getting Stoeger M3500 in Max-5 camo this year. It sounds exactly like what the OP wants too. Cheap, reliable and semi-auto that can shoot up to 3.5"

Also for what it's worth I shoot an 870 as well and my next purchase will likely be an a300

considering all the duck guns we have at our house - and the 870 is the least used.... pretty much anything you get - will be an upgrade

I also need you to help me. I have not had much opportunity to hunt ducks in several years. My shotguns are very old. I used my Model 12 Winchester 20 gauge for teal season and am using a Remington 1100 12 gauge 2-3/4" now.

The men that I hunt with use a Benelli and a Browning Maxus. They can make the longer pass shots which I cannot. Would either be a good option for me or better another brand?

maxus is the easiest to take down in clean - if you waterfowl a lot... this is key

That shot doesn't know if it's coming out of a Remington or a Benelli.

I would pattern your gun. If it's hitting where you're aiming, it ain't the gun. If it's not hitting where you're aiming, it's most likely fit. Most of the new semis come with shims that will help with that, so pick your poison.

I would go pick up some benellis and beretta and see which one you like. Personally, I like benelli.

For one hunt I used my 1982 Browning BSS. I prefer to use a semi-automatic with the 2 3/4". This 3" double barrel will hit the longer shots but it is gotten a wee bit heavy for me as I have aged.

A Vinci model ? I will compare. Thanks for the guidance.

I chose the super black eagle over the vincI. I couldn't reach the safety on the vinci.

How was the trigger in the M3500? The reviews say its like a 7lbs trigger. How would that compare to the 870's trigger. Im considering the M3500 but i am concerned about the heavy trigger.

I love my maxus, Ive had it for 4 years and no problems. More than your budget but might be able to find a used one closer to your price range.

I had a Beretta loved it but after about 4th year it started having issues hunted another season and cussed it the whole time. Stayed at the gunsmith. Bought the m3500 and in my 4th year now and has never hung a shell or misfired. Sucker is bullet proof. Ive dropped it in 4 ft of water, i ran it over in the marsh mud with the boat and like to never found it, got drunk and left it in salt water that had seeped into bottom of my boat for about 4days. Clean it and go. I have invested in the new m3500 max 5 last year only because after the make a product that good for that long they usually do something to it or take it off the market (Honda 300)

If you shoot the outlander , you will not buy the stoeger . Trigger is not a problem on stoeger , main issue I have if bolt is not snapped shut tight it ain't firing .

I bring two guns to the blind. Remington 870 shooting 3.5" BB for geese and I just got an A300 Outlander shooting 3" #2' or #4's for ducks.

FWIW I've never had the 870 given me trouble and I've used it for a push pole before... I love my A300 but it has failed to Cycle a few times before. Gotta keep it clean. My next semi auto will probably be a super vinci but that is a few yeas out
