Pretty sure boarding another boat is basically piracy and the kid should have swiss cheesed the idiot. FL has very liberal stand your ground laws.

I'm on the water 100 days a year and always carrying. You board my boat in that manner, you've probably boarded your last boat.

Doesn't say much about his sports intervening. You're doing something you love to do and getting paid for it. The kid seemed to be the innocent bystander for someone else calling him a fig. The captain kept at it to a point where he crossed line and none of the so-called adults on his boat, stood down.

I’ve seen one situation at a lower stress level than this.

The guide had something to say at my group. He didn’t get far but I’m curious what his paying clients thought.

Especially after being told to frick off multiple times by me. He was in the wrong.

We were bank fishing but it was 16 or so drift boats banked at a known hole before the rain came in. He was 32’ away for hours after it happened.

While I never want to be in that situation, Florida is a stand your ground state. Kid could've put him down, but thankfully it didn't happen.

Guide deserves all the shite he gets and even any legal consequences.

So what was the argument about? The kid was fishing without lights in the channel during sunrise?

Craziest thing is that apparently the guide had nothing but other guides with him? Friends or something? And they never held him back

I could be wrong, but this is the way I understand it from the video.

Guide came through a known fishing spot at night that had multiple boats fishing and almost hit a boat because they didn't have lights on. I guess an argument occurred with all the boats and the kids friend called the dude a fig.

The video is the next day, psycho guide would actually have a point if he wasn't psycho and tried to go all blackbeard.

Kid and his buddy were fishing without lights the night before. The guide blew through at high rate of speed (which he shouldn’t do whether people are there or not) and kid’s buddy called him a fig and probably other things, but the fig really seemed to stick with old boy, for coming through too fast. Guide dude felt they were in the wrong for not having lights on.

Guide is out the next day with a bunch of guide buddies and spotted kid again and decided to bitch him out for calling him a name. Kid says it was his buddy, not him. And then things escalate.

Allegedly fishing without lights.

Knowing what a tool and a drunk this dude is, he may have been a bit tipsy, unaware, or just didn't care and tore through the area anyway. I don't put much faith in Horner's position.

Also is it just me or did Horner's boat not have numbers on it?

For the first 80% of the video I was like "meh this is just normal shite talking between fishermen" and then at the end my jaw dropped. Cannot believe that fricking tool climbed into his boat Kid should've given him the "This Is Sparta" kick and dipped outta there

As per Tarpon Coast Fishing Charters, Captain Brock Horner is a sixth-generation Floridian and the owner of Tarpon Coast Fishing Charters, operating primarily in the Sarasota, Charlotte Harbor, Boca Grande and Tampa Bay areas. He has 25 years of fishing experience, the website claims. As per Florida arrest records, Horner has been arrested 12 times.

Horner is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University and a US Army Ranger veteran, having served as a paratrooper during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is certified in CPR, AED and Pediatrics, and is part of the Wounded Warriors alumni association, per the Tarpon Coast Fishing Charters.

Between 2003 and 2008, while Brock Horner was a student at the University of Florida, he had multiple arrests, including felony battery and possession of a weapon on school grounds. Other charges during this period included DUI, driving with a suspended license, and multiple probation violations, with bonds ranging from $500 to $1,000.
Following his time at the University of Florida, Horner faced further legal issues. In 2010, he was arrested for disorderly conduct, followed by a DUI charge in 2014. In 2016, he was charged with violating probation or community control, continuing a pattern of legal troubles beyond his college years.

The kid did admit that his "not buddy" didn't have them on. Also either the kid, or another person on his boat, apparently got into a cursing match with the captain the previous night over the incident.

I thought the boat that supposedly was without their lights on was a different boat that was just fishing the same spot near the kid who filmed the encounter.

Pretty sure he said multiple times in the video that he had his lights on and it was another boat who didn’t have lights. Don’t think they were really friends, more of just being acquainted because they’re both regulars at the same spot by that bridge.
