Busted out of the grass when I was cutting. Raked it over with the fel so my dogs wouldn't get after it. Jumped out the tractor to dispose of it and the dogs beat me to it. Popped my 7 year old lab in thr nose. Bled a little and she seems OK. What species is this?

That's a moccasin. You should probably take your dog to a clinic asap.

That’s a moccasin.
My lab got popped a couple of years ago by what I assumed was a moccasin in a ditch , two small fang marks. I gave him Benadryl for a couple of day s and he was fine. I have had several get bit and they never have had issues all labs.
Buddy of mines Dalmation almost died when it got popped by a copperhead.

Black momba. Get dog to vet

She got popped on the tip of the nose but doesn't even look that swollen. I was going to wait and see, but the wife wouldn't let it go. At the vet now.

My dog's swelling was that minimal around day 8. A couple vials of anti venin barely didn't the trick. He got nailed on the top of his head, right behind his left eye.

Very well could be a dry bite too but that’s definitely a moccasin. Dogs can handle the venom better than humans. Hopefully they don’t have to give him antivenin cause that stuff ain’t cheap.

Msy be a dumb question, but how would a dog react if bitten by a rattlesnake?
I keep the lookout when I walk her, but those frickers are everywhere here.

My beagle, SoJourn, died.

This vet said she doesn't give antivenom unless it's a specific case, namely rattlesnake bites.
Looks like an injection of pain meds and benadryl is going to be the extent of it.

I’m sure she’ll be fine buddy. Give her a biscuit with Benadryl.

Rattle snake can and will kill a dog with the quickness.
Most other snakes will cause some swelling but will not kill the dog. At least not a large breed.
