The idea of the Louisiana marsh being like the Everglades is both awesome and ridiculous

This sums it up. I'd love for it all to be state land and everyone have rights to it. But that's just not the case and I don't think it's fair for the government to step in and say the people open up their private property so the public can use it.

We've been using our marsh as if it's state owned waters when it isn't and never has been. Just because we've been doing it, doesn't make it right. I get the frustration, but we shouldn't change laws just because people don't want to follow them since they never did before.

I totally understand the canals being detrimental to the marsh and erosion, but two wrongs don't make a right.

One of the problems I have with Louisiana is the so little amount of patrols. I hope anyone who damages property, cuts trees, ignores limits and basically has no respect for conservation be ticketed..
It's just my belief that a canal connected to a public waterway should be public. We are sportsman paradise. I am tired of losing my fishing holes. The more gates that come up the hotter and hotter this topic will get. I love fishing south Louisiana.

I understand the feeling, but I really wish people wouldn't do that.

I'll keep an eye for them on Saturday. I really only notice them when I'm in the kayak. I'll just outrun them if they run up on me.

Ain't nothing wrong with me poppin off a few rounds on the property I legally own. Not my fault if I happen to hit someone illegally trespassing, dog.

You're pretending to have the stones to shoot at someone fishing on your leased marsh property?

No,

I'm pretending to have the stones to shoot at someone trespassing on our lease. There's a difference
