Exactly..... we want what we see other states have.... To hear B.A.S.S. and FLW’s stance on Louisiana’s water access laws makes me feel embarrassed.... As a state we are losing out so a select few can have their private Sportsman’s Paradise...... This isn’t the same swamp and marshland I grew up Fishing and I am ashamed it is being gated off so future generations can’t enjoy it like I did as a kid...
We want to fish a natural resource.... Nothing is free about fishing.... I will pay for the boat, gear and gas..... We want to fish ..... Stop trying to say it’s a land grab and we want free stuff.....

Not asking to be given someone’s property... Just want to fish ..... just like all the other states..... Like I said in previous posts.... What goes on in Louisiana is way different than any other state..... Nobody is asking to hunt the land, mineral rights, etc.... just the opportunity to fish the water....
Not the point.... the point is Sabine and Mobile Deltas are very very similar to the Louisiana marsh and they have no restrictions.... We do have a good bit of public area to fish.... the problem is that we have lost some areas as well... the way the law is written we could lose a good bit more.... all major tournament trails will not come back here.... Also, as I have traveled the southeast fishing tournaments I have learned from my competitors from other states that they will never vacation here because of the laws.... I know that may make some of you happy, but I think it’s wrong and will fight to change it

The CPRA representative on the task force gave a presentation on how they do restoration on private land and after the work is completed they turn over the land to the private owner and the state gets nothing
Yes, we have a lot more man made canals that have resulted in faster coastal erosion , that the public tax dollars pay to rebuild, yet the public does not have access to
I fish all over the southeastern United States..... this is the only state I have ever been in in which you drive a boat and see gate after gate .... sign after sign telling the public they are not allowed to fish an area...

No greed here.... I live on a canal.... I have no gate.... I enjoy seeing families fish in the canal.. if a canal connects to a lake a gate is up that doesn’t allow access to that canal.... then the people who put up the gate are greedy not allowing my access to fish the “public water “ on the other side of the gate.... that’s it...
It’s just wrong.... the mobile delta in Alabama and the Sabine delta in Texas are very similar to the marsh in Louisiana.... it’s just greed... our public tax dollars are being used to rebuild “private marshland “ for the use of just a handful of people.... the fishermen don’t want access to any land.... just the ability to fish the water...... The amount of areas we have lost fishing access to is astonishing.. gate here, gate there.... and for what reason.. just greed....

Bad title..... Fishing all public water still not allowed in Louisiana.....
Legal in all other states.....
You can own the water in Louisiana
Corruption and Greed

Try asking which BOARD MEMBER is also the land manager for a major company restricting access...
CCA Louisiana issues statement on HB391 - Public water access
Posted by Wacker on 4/5/18 at 4:34 pm
CCA basically kicked the can down the road on water access stating they want a committee to be formed to study the issue. LSU Sea Grant just finished a study. Will this become the next "new bridge over the Mississippi"? Studied over and over with no resolution? Consider that CCA is not on the side of sportsmen but rather on the side of rich and powerful oil companies and landowners. LINK

Louisiana is the only state in America that allows property owners to claim ownership of waters that ebb and flow with the tide.
As stated on their website (link is above), the Louisiana Sportsmen's Coalition is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting public access to our waterways. I am proud to be a member of LaSC and I know that the board has spent last fall getting prepped for this legislative session. The website has been revamped and is a valuable source of information. It's hard to watch
I agree with you 100%
I wish that was true.... but they sure do gate off the tidal waters
