I swear...The Irish have no regard whatsoever for Federal Fishing regulations. Never have.

I have a rule, no sharks or cudas come over the side, between the teeth and the smell I have no use for that mess.

I do, I just don't target garbage fish. 99% of the time we just target yellowfin with a possible stop for some bottom fish.

I still can't believe people actually target amberjack.

When I first started offshore, they were considered a trash fish that wasted a lot of dragging time.

What? That "himachi" that you eat at a sushi restaurant is generally either California Yellowtail or Greater Amberjack. Good. Fish.

Went amberjack fishing for the first time a month or so ago for the Houma Oilman's Rodeo. I have to say, it was fun, but not really. You ride almost two hours one way to get your arse whipped by a big fish. I had an epiphany that day....I'm more of an inshore guy. That said, I hope to go tuna fishing soon.

We were laughing about that in Artie's the other night. New guys had to fight the tuna, the bills went to the big wheels. All revolved around the points.
