re: What kind of blue jeans do you wear?
Posted by jtmiller02 on 9/18/14 at 10:47 am to yurintroubl
Mostly Levis but the Citizens of Humanity Jagger is a another great bootcut jean if you can afford dropping a little extra coin.
Before anyone starts with the "OMG only gay dudes and affliction t-shirt wearers drop $200 on jeans" heres my logic:
Sneakers=$150 bucks. Jeans last a lot longer than sneakers. If you find great jeans and they're $200 buy them.

I think they took No Fear shirts on trade-in at those places.

I'm thinking from the blood/marker lines it was low on the inside of the calf. See what looks like a circle in sharpie?

re: I'm being sued for a old CC. ...UPDATED..agreement
Posted by jtmiller02 on 7/24/14 at 9:29 pm to saderade
I had a similar situation about a dozen years ago when I was hurt in a car accident, however it never reached the point of being sued. I can say with a straight face I may have paid someone late, but I've never stiffed anyone, ever.
I worked with everyone I owed and paid every bill I had once the responsible parties paid me. That "big settlement" didn't go real far, but I did the right thing. Funny thing is 10 years later all those same banks are happy to have my business. Had I not paid, that probably wouldn't be the case.
If they made a reasonable offer, then get the details in writing and pay up. Take it as a lesson learned, bad news needs to be dealt with promptly or it will get worse.

It really depends if you are close to a "breakpoint" as I would call it for the lender you are working with. For any type of loan from any lender there is always a hard number where a rate changes.
In the most common range of scores though, mid 600's through mid 700's there could be 5 or more number breaks. A drop from 725 to 715 could be a big deal where a drop from 780 to 770 wouldn't matter much at all.

How about a $2,000,000 home, $100,000 deductible, most people consider a total loss where you get a $1.9 million check. They forget that roof damage etc could mean writing a check for $100,000 out of pocket.

Here's the ruling:

That certainly doesn't sound like a reckless over-reach of government power. So based on this ruling every "offended" party in the world can invalidate their enemy's trademarks.

Crescent City Bridge Lights Hilarity
Posted by jtmiller02 on 6/16/14 at 2:54 pm
So this article LINK contains some great info proving just how many incompetent idiots work for our city/state govt.
They start by saying they have $1.3 million in recurring enhanced maintenance and utilities. Then they break down the costs of the lighting.
"Lighting costs are about $500,000 a year for the 13-mile CCC corridor that runs from the Broad Street overpass along the West Bank Expressway to the Huey P. Long Bridge. The electricity bill for decorative lamps averages about $1,500 a month, according to engineer Scott Boyle of the transportation department. Maintenance for the decorative lights is another $90,000 a year, he said."
$1500 per month plus $90,000 would be $108,000 per year. So basically 80% of the lighting costs or roughly $400,000 per year are to light the roadway. The other $800,000 goes to grass cutting and other normal tasks handled on every other roadway without dedicated funds.
So by my math if the costs of lighting and general maintenance were handled the way they are for every other road in the state you have a $4.4 million dollar fund that would essentially be able to light the bridge indefinitely if invested properly. All other maintenance and lighting should be handled as it is on other major roadways out of DOT funds and grass mowing should be offloaded to the cities the roadway runs through.
This is a perfect example of what happens when corrupt politicians insert their family and friends into cozy jobs like a banana republic. Whenever the public finally has enough and overturns them they try to exact revenge by playing games like this.
Don't even get me started on the worthless Huey P Long bridge cops.

I'm all for respect but parading your dead uncle down I-10 during the middle of rush hour is about as classy as the folks propping the dead guy up to a bar with a pack of busch and a marlboro red.
