I've been keeping an eye out for a mechanic's tool set to keep in my truck. I wanted something in a molded plastic case to keep everything organized that's not too big to slide under the back seat and had a good assortment of sockets and some combination wrenches too. It seems like if the set had a good set of combination wrenches it would end up being too big for my needs. Or something compact and portable wouldn't have the sockets and wrenches I want. This one ticked off almost all the sockets I would wanted (99.6% lacking only a 10mm deep socket) had the 8mm-14mm combination wrenches I wanted and throws in a set of channel locks, needle nose pliers, and a good set of screw drivers. Pretty sure I can disassembly almost any car I've ever worked on with these. Except for a Jeep with it numerous Torx drive screws.

I’ve had this set for about 4 years now, it’s been pretty spot on for me. The tools are starting to rust a little but I take this set on my boat every time I go and theyve gotten wet a few times. I lost the 10mm wrench and I couldn’t find one the right length to fit the mold and crescent sent me a new one for free.

So many of you bought this same set for the same purpose. Why the heck didn't y'all tell the rest of us before I went wandering around from store to store looking for a set

Agreed!
Great post/recommendation. Been looking for something I can keep under the seat of my Tundra. Tired of throwing my house tool bags in the truck every time I run to the hunting lease.

Will this become the official truck tool set of the OB with the proper clames approval?

I bought mine for $94 from eBay when they had a 10 or 20% off coupon. Yes it is great for the truck

I think they make another one with different sockets or wrenches, but they're both solid emergency tool kits

I just wanna give everybody getting a new tool kit some encouragement. I don’t think I’ve ever kept one together for more than a year. But here she is in all her glory on year 4 not missing any pieces.

Also I drilled some holes in the bottom a long time ago. I found that water could get in some how but couldn’t get out.

Get some Birchwood Casey Barricade from your local shoot em up supply store and spray those tools town. The barricade will neutralize the rust and turn it black and give it a protective costing.

Looks pretty good but wish they'd drop the 1/4" and 1/2" ratchet. For a portable set, a 3/8 does almost everything.

I don't mind the 1/4. But for the 1/2 drive I almost agree with you. I find if I'm using my 3/8 and I can't get it to break I'll pull out my 1/2" drive ratchet and beat on the end of the 3/8 handle to make a pseudo impact wrench and that normally frees up the stuck bolt.
