Any recommendations for a good field watch?
Looking for something rugged, simple, and can be worn in the field and in an office setting.

Are you looking for quartz or mechanical? Price range?

Wife bought me this one and it’s been great.

Wouldn’t mind a Hamilton if I didn’t have the above watch already.

Any specific features your are looking for? Ive always liked the Garmin Fenix but don't have any experience with it. Currently on my second Apple watch.

That Bertucci is fine.I have an old school Seiko diver that I really like. The nylon bands look great but they tend to smell after a while of fishing, sweating, dirt, etc.

I wore a seiko #5 for close to 10 years and loved it. It was stolen from my vehicle while at a body shop.

Looking for a no frills watch.Only important feature would be the date. My price range is within $300-450.

Been wearing a marathon diver auto medium for about 5 years now. Functional and looks sharp.

I got this one for about $175 5 years ago and it hasn’t let me down. I also got a bunch of different straps from off the net for under $5. Each.

Check out Hook and Gaff watches.

Extremely durable and look great in the office or any setting...I have the sporfisher and absolutely love it. You can purchase different color bands as well.

Seiko makes some nice automatic field watches for not much dough. I received an SNK805 (37mm) for Christmas and it's been working great. That series runs about $100.

Edit: That's the one Loup posted. I'm wearing it right now.

I'd also look at the SNZG09J1, SNZG15K1 and SNZG7J1. They are 42mm and run about $150. I'll probably pick one of those up soon.

The face of my had a pretty good notch in it from hitting it with a grinder at Rubicon. Definitely a tough watch.

Like others have said, a Seiko 5 is probably exactly what you're looking for and you can pocket that extra $2-300 and get yourself a couple bottles of bourbon. I've got the SNK803 (cream colored dial) but they have different colors for whatever you like. Only thing to note is that they don't have a winding function, so you'll just have to spin it around a few times to get it going

If you want something different, check out the Hamilton Khaki (make sure to get the automatic version unless you want a hand wind only , $400ish)

I ended up putting a brown leather band on mine when I moved in to an office role and it looked pretty sharp. I think i'm going to buy another one today.

I have a Hook & Gaff Moonphase which I wear all the time.

If you aren't much into fishing they make a "field watch" as well but it is pretty bland

I've scraped welding spatter off of mine. I've got the larger 23 jewel mov't version too, both are rough work watches that have been 100% reliable. I've got a couple of cheap watch winders I keep them on.
